These older homes and neighborhoods in Las Vegas are amazing, so much more character than the stucco clad McMansions in Summerlin, Centennial, and Henderson with an under-utlized pool house in the back yard. I love that you embraced some of the older original details throughout the house, plus it is not to often that we get to view a house hold that does not look like it came straight out of some furniture show room. I lived in a small space (600 sq ft) until about a month ago when I made a dash to the suburbs and I am now living in a space that is just short of 3000 sq ft. While it was nice having every possible amenity at my finger tips, I don't think I could ever go back to city living. Everything from stress level to commuting times as dropped at an unbelievable rate. I don't believe that it is about consumption rates or any other political nonsense when it comes to deciding where and what to live in, as long as it makes YOU happy, thats all that really matters. I had the same problem. Oddly enough the same exact color, instead of red I used metallic gold paint. I create a geometric stencil from my favorite patterned shirt that I have and by photocopying it till it became large enough that it would not be to difficult to paint. Cut out the shape, trace it on some foam board and get ready to test your patience. It took a while to complete but well worth the $40 for paint.
