I love patterned curtains, it's too bad that if you want them you either have to have them custom made or make them yourself.

My town will only recycle newspaper, #1 and #2 and brown cardboard. I save other types of paper, plastic and cardboard so that my mom can take it with her and recycle it, because her town takes all kinds of stuff.

I also have a habit of turning the light off when I leave the room which drives my bf nuts.

Wow really @ quiltmaster? I want to see you do better. It was my first time upholstering or tufting anything.

I would love to learn more about the upholstery process. Since they mention it is sort of a dying artform where did these ladies learn?

Jess13, the headboard looks like Jonathan Adler's Woodhouse bed which I love.

A tutorial for something similar can be found at Design Sponge. All you would have to do is add tufting.

Daydreaming About Duvet Covers

I like #1 and #3. I've been looking at the DwellStudio one but even on "sale" at $196 seems like way too much to pay for what is essentially a big pillowcase.

If you decide to make your own and just want a plain duvet a shortcut to piecing widths of 44 or 54" fabric is to use two flat sheets. You could also use a high quality muslin like Kona.

An alternative to G Speaks ribbon idea is using snap tape.

I loved the petrie until I actually sat on it. Not comfortable at all.

I absolutely love Macy's Chloe sofa and their Corona is very similar to the Bantam.

Both have good reviews and are cheaper than the ones you posted if budget is an issue.

If all you do is change the hardware and the flooring your kitchen is still going to look country.

As long as the cabinet boxes are solid how about refacing them? It is cheaper than replacing them and will give you a completely new look.

The scallop thing over the sink needs to just go, not be replaced.

And really vinyl floor is just crap and isn't going to do anything for resale value. I would definitely go with tile.

A backsplash can wait until later depending on how much money you have to put into this.

I have a similar problem a long harrow sunroom/mudroom. Eventually we hope to build a bench and storage similar to Pottery Barn's brady system.
