Totally awesome! I admire you for doing it, and the way you arranged your artwork, and the artwork itself is so cool. The window valance and design is also great, and I love your boldness of COLOR!!
Very nice!

Are you kidding me? This is awesome! GREAT job, Lee!

Absolutely fabulous changeover. The color on the walls is perfect NYC~ and the flooring is excellent to go along with that~ in fact, you've now given me an idea to do the same thing, though I no longer live in NYC. I'm out in Ohio and with thedreary winters here for 7 months out of the year just about), our floors could really use some sprucing up!!

What do you think cats and dogs ate before there was such a thing a dog and cat food?

Oh my! They ate "people food!"

And what is in canned and dry food? Uh oh! "People food!"

Processed foods are worse by far for your animals. Raw meats, veggies, and the proper amounts of vitamins and minerals will make your little beasts stronger and healthier and happier.

For cats: Check out Anitra Frazier's "The New Natural Cat" book.

You will love it.

Depending on the style of your house, I'd go with a gorgeous mantle. Look on Craigslist for amazing deals.

There's nothing so beautiful as an antique solid wood mantle with carvings in it. Or even if it's plain, but just old and solid.

You can also have that brick sanded, or treated and restored. I think it's called repointing, where someone can come in and it takes care of the crumbling.

I'd leave the brick, but restore it properly, and then get an old gorgeous mantle, and then your once eyesore (in your eyes) of a fireplace becomes the great centerpiece of the room, and perhaps the house!

I'll tell ya~ up to now I thought it was creepy, but consider this: What a marvel the bone structure is that God has created. Each one is a work of art in the ultimate sense. I think it's wonderful, and may just begin a collection of my own~ why not?

You get what you pay for, and I can totally relate to the love affair with the Miele brand.

We splurged several years ago on a Miele canister type vac and it's worth every penny.

Good old German engineering~ it's definitely like the BMW of vacs. This thing is lightweight, rolls around super easily on its revolving wheels that turn whichever way you do~ but the best thing is the suction power it has, I actually prefer it to our Sears upright which weighs a ton. Oh, and it's so quiet, it's not even as loud as a hair dryer. (Not kidding).

Their uprights must be great, but with having wood floors in our new home, the little red canister will do just fine. If you've got the money~ go for it.

OK~ that was my free advertising for the day!

Ok~ you all brought to mind a poem I fell in love with and chose to read aloud in front of my 4th grade classroom:

Trees ~ by Joyce Kilmer

I think that I shall never see
A poem lovely as a tree.

A tree whose hungry mouth is prest
Against the earth’s sweet flowing breast;

A tree that looks at God all day,
And lifts her leafy arms to pray;

A tree that may in Summer wear
A nest of robins in her hair;

Upon whose bosom snow has lain;
Who intimately lives with rain.

Poems are made by fools like me,
But only God can make a tree.
