We always use a washable mattress pad and flip or rotate our mattress four times a year. This is the schedule I always have hanging behind the calendar: Spring - front to back, rotated, Summer - sideways, flipped, Fall - front to back, rotated, Winter - sideways, flipped. I never used to know which way it needed to go, so I'm very happy with my system. After the mattress is moved (definitely a two person chore), then comes the excitement of changing the bed linens for the new season. I love textiles! Survey: Do You Flip Your Mattress? |

We've completely given up on choosing our own paint colors. We only get them from from actual homes in magazines that list the actual paint color, or paint chips from pottery barn and restoration hardware. Now we're finally happy with our results! Your cottage made me so happy! Especially the word "cottage." I love seeing a beautiful, cozy home that is decorated inexpensively! You did a wonderful job with it, and the exterior is what dreams are made of. Thank you for sharing it with us! Apartment Therapy Chicago | House Call: Lois's Little Cottage |

I agree with gordon. Eating, working, etc. in bed reminds me of being sick. The last time I ate in bed was when I had the stomach flu and nibbled on a cracker (and I got crumbs in the bed!). Apartment Therapy Los Angeles | Survey: How Much Time Do You Spend In Bed? |

I have a cute wire dress form in the bedroom. I put my latest sewing project on it, or I'll display a new and exciting purchase there. I also sometimes have a bad habit of dressing it for the season: right now it has a warm wintery hat on (and the dress for the beach I never got around to altering. . .). I don't think I have any clothing that would look good on display in one of our main living spaces though. Apartment Therapy Los Angeles | Clothes As Display |

I did a major cleaning in the cabinet under the sink so I could store towels in there. We don't have alot of them, so we go through them quickly and they don't get icky. The sheets are all in canvas under the bed (which is raised up on risers). We got rid of the little linen closet to make room for a tiny office. We're very happy with our system!
