Completely agree with eyemandy. It really irks me to see things posted without links (this is a website, right) and I can't understand why it happens so frequently on AT.

Does anyone know where the sofa in the top photo is from? That's exactly what I'm looking for and even though it looks "basic", I can't find it!

Some may think the style is better, but is the furniture still made in China/Vietnam? I'm not saying you can't get good quality furniture from Asia, but I find it curious that they ditched all of their US manufacturers, but didn't drop their prices. Really makes me appreciate seeing "made in North Carolina" on R&B site.

I'm not waving my "I only buy American" flag - I'm just wondering how the prices are justified given the country of origin, generous use of veneer on furniture that's supposed to look like solid wood and the questionable quality (my $450 RH crystal table lamp just died last week after less than a year). Screw me once...

lemook, I did exactly that to secure our current place. After several go rounds, my man & I were informed that we were in the "final 2" of possible tenants. Desperate to get the 1 apartment we had seen on the 1 weekend I flew in to look at places, I racked my brain for what could push to the top spot.

I had documented the evolution of my previous place so I sent the link to the online album. I had it professionally painted and picked every piece of new/old furniture for the place (I still love & have it all). I also made sure my landlord knew I would be moving my stuff in and the boy's stuff was going to people who needed it more than us.

I loved that place and I think it showed in the pics - seems like my current landlord agreed. :) She always comments how nice the place looks when she comes by, which is a nice full circle moment.

I don't work for them, but I covet roller shades from http://deliashades.com/

They mimic the looks of screens and I love the photos on the site!

I'm confused. I thought Anna was writing about Candace & Chris's apartment?

And yes, I enjoyed her writing. Since I don't think this place belongs to her, I'm not worried about applicants being chosen based on their own own fancy homes.

I saw these rugs at a great store/coffeeshop in Santa Cruz (CA). The rugs were exactly as represented on the site - colorful and good quality. I was really tempted to buy one, but needed to come home and think it through before pulling my wallet out!

AustinSarah, take a look at my profile for my email if you want to try to do a swap in San Francisco. I haven't tried this before, but have been curious for a long time! Maybe we'll be each other's first. hehe.

This was a no-win situation... if her rooms were decked out in super expensive items, then she would be a spoiled brat who probably doesn't appreciate all that she has. Storing shoes out in the open on what appear to be PB shelves is a problem, really?

I'm not a fan of hers, but sometimes I get frustrated by the turn that comments take...

I think niche nailed it when pointing out that no teenage girl would turn this down! :)

There is a whole store of these lights on Fillmore in SF. I don't remember the name of it, but I think one strand is about $20.

There is also a "global exchange" store on 24th that has them sometimes - they are strung outside of the shop permanently. :)

My thinking is the same as jen_g - I wish I could carry the title "civil servant" and have this much money to buy a place in SF.

Better yet, he's probably selling this place for a bigger, more $$, more BROWN place! :P

I'm now providing a power strip since so many of my friends bring multiple electronics with them (phone, laptop, camera, whoknowswhatelse). It has been very well received!

I just hide it under the bed when it's not in use.

I also have info on the password for our wireless internet.

Wow, I'm ready for my geekiest of guests! :)

I don't work for them - I just drool over the images they post on CL. They used to have a pic of the 4 over 4 large cabinet install in the eat in area of a kitchen - amazing!

(You know, for the home I still can't afford despite the alleged recession.)
