Apartment Therapy ohdeedoh | Good Questions: How is the Antilop Highchair?

My husband has a big black piggy bank on his dresser that his $1 bills and all coins go into. I have a tin that looks like a €100 bill for all my euro coins, except for €1 coins. We leave those in the car because we need them for carts at the german shops. My us coins go in a tin on a shelf in the living room that everyone else in the house thinks is just decoration, otherwise the kids would pilfer it for candy money.

The beds are great, I agree with painting them. Do you have another play area? If not I would move the bed closest to the door under the window on the far wall. That will open up floor space for playing. My 8-year old son's opinion is that the armoire is a bit scary; can it be painted as well?

These would make great nightlights. I would definitely use these.

I actually like the 3 doors...a sort of funhouse look. The mirrors would reinforce this feeling. I think the "don't remember which door" may have been hyperbole, but perhaps point out to your friends that only one door has a deadbolt. Very seldom does anyone have deadbolts on the entryway closets. As for the lighting, recessed lighting would be the best plan with such a low ceiling but that would depend on budget and if this is a rental (my guess is yes).

Beside the suggextive connotations, does anybody really need an extra piece of plastic to keep their banana safe? If you really need a protective case for your fruit, won't one the ceaseless supply of tupperware-type containers found in most kitchens work for this job?

If you prefer the Chat Noir print, use it. I have one in my bedroom because I love it. The poster is "trite" and "cliche" because it is so popular because it's a good print. Just because everyone likes(liked) it, means it's no longer attractive? What about "Keep Calm and Carry On"? That one isn't even that interesting to look at. Not choosing a poster because someone deemed it uncool drops us down to junior high school, way past college dorms.

Apartment Therapy Los Angeles | Good Question: What Should I Do With The Wall Behind My Console?

I love the deviled-egg tray idea! I have a beautiful, ancient (okay, older than me) porcelain one that I got from my grandmother's house that currently sits unused on a shelf in my dining room because there is no way I am letting it anywhere near any of the occasions wher I might have deviled eggs (i.e., places with other people who might break it). It will be moving within the next five minutes to my dresser.

I like the wall color, but in this setting, it seems too neon. I concur with the opinion on the rug. The differnt patterns in each block make it a very interesting piece. The pillows on the couch are similar to some pillow covers I have from IKEA, but I don't see an IKEA influence here. Pray tell, where are they from?

I love the playroom, particulary the curtains bold prints.

On closer inspection, it's not glass, is it? I still like them.

I like the lavender. I had a living room this color once. I also like thestained glass on the tops of those dining chairs.

Thank you!

That white unit is actually a DIY makeover. My last house didn't have a linen closet and my dad was given this piece by a client. Here's the awful "before" picture.

My children and I lived a mile from my parents for about a year. And for six of those months, my (adult) little sister lived with them. I invaded their space much more often then they did mine.

When I read "pie window", I thought that was what it was actually called. My parents have one right above their stove, where a "pie window" might make sense. I still hate it.

Where else would sunglasses go?

Our landing strip has the requisite coats, shoes, bags, hats, keys, as well as a bin for library books, the dog's leash, extra poop bags, a lint roller, my son's watch, and a small pile of pebbles (not really sure why those are there).

Family modern.

I made hubby take the test too, since we have such a hard time coming together on anything (six months to pick a new rug for the living room!)..."funky modern"...I will let that explain why he insists on keeping a lava lamp on his desk.

I can figure out the rest but what is the description for "Barcelona cool"?
