I've got my first ever batch of no-knead bread on its sloppy second rise and I have a batch of rhubarb honey compote cooling to eat with yogurt for breakfasts this week. Round to a friend's tonight for pulled pork (and the bread, if all turns out well) and wine. Tomorrow I'm thinking lots of light summery things - maybe grilled romaine hearts with avocado dressing from Thug Kitchen and some grilled chicken breasts smothered in something spicy. Should be ready to start harvesting my radishes soon so we'll be eating those simply with lots of bread, salt and butter. What's Cooking This Weekend? Weekend of June 15-16, 2013 |

Tesco delivery makes my life easier every week. It's easy to budget and see offers and I can add my weekly essentials to my cart with one click. It's by no means perfect but without a car it's the best way to do my shopping. Of course, for treats and parties it's worth taking the bus to Sainsbury's, but a new huge Tesco just opened here and it's surprisingly well-stocked. I'm obsessed with the giant chicken mayo baguettes I always got for lunch in Paris. They were perfect. Pret A Manger (UK lunch chain) does amazing prosciutto, parmesan, basil and tomato sandwiches that remind me of Euro train sandwiches. Train Station Sandwiches: My European Travel Necessity |

About once a week I take a bagel and an avocado to work. At lunch time, I toast the bagel and spread avocado and salt on it. Perfect lunch, and makes my coworkers very jealous! My Favorite Early Morning Travel Snack: Avocado Toast |

I made migas burritos for breakfast and scrambled in some leftover cilantry green goddess dressing. They were delicious but a bit too filling for a pre-workout breakfast! We're out for dinner tonight (Turkish BBQ) but tomorrow will be salmon with stir-fried veggies and brown rice. What's Cooking This Weekend? Weekend of June 1-2, 2013 |

Usually strong cheddar because that's what we keep in, but I once laid slices of leftover camembert on top and that was quite pleasant. The Very Best Cheese for a Frittata: What Gets Your Vote? |

I had a tiny 1-cup mini chopper for a few years and used it mainly to make breadcrumbs, until I got a big food processor for christmas this year. At first it didn't get used much but now that I've moved it to the counter it gets used a good few times a week. I like it for making salsa, energy bars, dips, banana icecream and salad dressings like green goddess. It's really made cooking much easier and it isn't that hard to clean. I've really been enjoying the cilantro dressing from the taco salad that was posted a few weeks ago. I've been making it with greek yogurt instead of sour cream and it's just delicious. Summer Salad Mojo: The Only 5 Salad Dressings You Need |

Out for dinner tonight with my parents so apart from avocado and fried egg sandwiches this morning we won't be cooking at all. Tomorrow there'll be BLATs for breakfast and maybe beef and broccoli in oyster sauce for dinner. I'll also be prepping my boyfriend's lunches for the week on Sunday: BBQ turkey steak strips, quinoa and black beans and whatever veg we have lying around. It's my first time makling a week's meals so I'm a bit nervous about it lasting until Friday. What's Cooking This Weekend? Weekend of May 25-27, 2013 |

We just had this for dinner - really delicious! I skipped the olives as boyfriend is not a fan and no avocado since I had avocado toast for breakfast. I doubled the recipe and have layered the dressing, chunky stuff, lettuce and tortillas in a jar for lunch. Hopefully it'll still be good by lunch time tomorrow! It's the Eurovision song contest final tonight so we're having a little party (as many people as we can fit in our tiny living room) and I'm making a variety of European treats. Swedish meatball sandwiches in honour of the host country, Greek spanakopita pie, a few pizzas, Greek salad, a selection of French cheese and German salami with bread, and for desert victoria sponge muffins for the UK. Tonight I'm going to make huge bowls of guacamole and salsa and we'll dip tortilla chips, probably with a big salad on the side. Tomorrow I think will be sausages and lentils with a sid of the pencil-thin asparagus I found at the market this morning. What's Cooking This Weekend? Weekend of May 11-12, 2013 |

Baked camembert with baguette and asparagus for dinner tonight, with a leafy salad on the side. Probably lamb chops tomorrow. I don't know how it would work in a slow cooker, but I know that Jamie Oliver doesn't brown meat before stewing it. Is this a vital step before slow-cooking, does anyone know? Jamie says it doesn't affect flavour or texture. I've tried it a few times and I think he's right, apart from maybe ground beef. What Can I Cook Without a Stove or Oven? Good Questions |
