I HATE stairs...even if they have a railing, certain staircases freak me out. If they're too steep, too spiral, too slippery, have too short steps, I'm done. These give me total anxiety. I would never live or visit anywhere that has stairs like these.

hmm I wandered over from AT also just to see the top names....I am a teacher and I could have made this list very easily based on the students at my school. If I see one more Olivia, Aidan, Sophia, Isabella or something like that, I get really frustrated. There is a difference between being original and being trendy. Trendy names get so common that they turn ordinary too. But please don't name your kid something I can't pronounce (not talking ethnicity here, I am talking parents who wanted to be different)...it just ends up embarrassing the kid when I call attendance the first day.

I am going to echo some of the people who've already posted: If you get in an expert on lighting, that will immediately transform a space. A person who does theater lighting knows color combos like the back of their hand. In college, one showed me how if you hit one color with a specific light, it shows as one color, and the same color under a different light shows another color. Get someone to wash those stage curtains in colored spots and turn them purple. As for the panels, you could cover them in paper or hit them with lights too...even lights that have a gobo in them to project your damask pattern. Play up the theater aspect in such a cool space

I live on East-West Highway. Very annoying. Imagine the confusion when telling it to people over the phone. Even the post office doesn't do it correctly: E. West Hwy is their default.

Nothing like the street I lived on the first 20-odd years of my life....Grace Street. loved it. The story is that the man who had the first house there had a daughter Grace

My bedroom furniture is still the 'first apartment' stuff from craigslist that my husband and I bought when we first moved in together....I need to redo the whole bedroom, but I just haven't had the time.
Also, our computer desk in the main area of our living space is a hand-me-down from mom and dad. It does the job really well but it's so ugly...I need a nice computer desk about 42" long that can accommodate a PC (tower preferably behind a cabinet door)!!

my condo just changed the hallway decor....we actually used the same carpet as in the photo, but in a brown/black scheme. they alternated that carpet with a pattern of brown/black/gold curved lines. the walls are painted gold with accent panels of chocolate brown. it is kinda dark, but it's pretty cool. i feel almost like i'm on safari when I walk down the hall (it's better now than when the panels were painted blue, who thought THAT would match?)

HOLY COW....I'm staring at the photo you took of the map in Delaware, shocked at what I'm seeing and getting really homesick. It's interesting that you found that map in Delaware, considering it is a nautical map of Long Island, featuring Oyster Bay Harbor!! (My hometown) What a nice surprise for me stuck in DC on a rainy day, now wishing I were back in Oyster Bay....

If I had the money to live anywhere I wanted, it would be in one of these amazing Old Town colonial homes. It is the coolest, most historical, and really fun place to live. Too bad they are super expensive to buy.

I just got the Shark mop because of a recommendation from a friend. It retails for $99 but Macy's always has sales on it and BB&B carries it, so you can use the coupon. It's really easy to use and supposedly is fine for wood floors, but I don't have any to give you the results. I use it on my tile, and no it doesn't pick up crumbs and such but it cleans all the mess that you would use a mop for.

This has become very astrological : ) So I'm a Pisces, and I guess we're supposed to be more ethereal and less practical...but I was raised by my mother the Virgo and list making came naturally. It must be my scattered sign though that causes me to lose lists and have more than one in all sorts of places (newspaper margins, scrap paper, notebooks, envelopes and my ipod) nothing syncs!!!

I am redoing my boring beige tiled bathoom in a black and white theme...the tile unfortunately has to stay but instead of adding red like i've been doing, everything is going black and white to play off the black granite counters (which are AWFUL for a bathroom sink btw, don't ever do it!)
