For me I am a half grown up. I'm a 27 year old who moved back with parents to finish my education. I having been living fairly broke for a long time since I decided to go back to school and also due to periods of bad health. On the one hand, I feel like a kid because I haven't graduated, don't own a car or home, am living on a not quite full time retail paycheck, and only have car insurance but no other kind. So I don't have a couch or guest linens, or kids, or enough credit to cover an emergency car repair (thanks for the rescue loan mom!) However, I can pay bills, do laundry, cook a great meal, and prepare my taxes. I am grown up enough to not worry what other people think, to not put up with being mistreated, to know what really matters in life, and to be there for friends and family when they need me. Maybe I don't have the trappings of a grown up life but I have learned hard lessons about growing up. Adult life means making sacrifices, being responsible, overcoming hardships, taking care of yourself and the people who matter to you, and finding and creating your own happiness.

Got a perfect score. I went to high school with a kid who got a perfect 1600 on SAT and know 2 people with perfect pitch but isn't this ability really so much better? Feelings of superiority validated. No seriously, this is interesting. I'm an fiber artist and I love using color. The hardest paint mixing challenge is to get black from mixing red, yellow, and blue. More difficult than you would think. It's cool to have high color sensitivity but the ability to see color or lack there of doesn't determine artistic ability. I had a boy in one of my classes that was colorblind (but maybe he meant color deficient) who did an amazing acrylic painting with a beautiful use of color in which everyone could clearly see his talent. The comments and test also make me think of Shades of Grey by Jasper Fforde (not the infamous 50 shades of grey but an entirely different book) about a society where color sensitivity determines social ranking. I apparently would rule such a society with my amazing color vision ;-)

That turned out cool and is a fun idea. I believe art is indefinable the qualifications are different for every person. The process involved does not dictate if something is a work of art. Exploration leads the development of new ideas and the strengthening of techniques. I am in the fine arts program at ASU concentrating in fibers. My professor told a story of a graduate student she had who made a gorgeous piece of felt that she had made binding wool and fabric and processing it in the washing machine. The result was incredibly beautiful, but the student didn't know if she could call it art because she didn't totally control the whole process. My professor and the whole department told her sometimes great art is made by accident or chance and that does nothing to devalue the work. Why shouldn't a baby start painting and if the result is beautiful why not put it on the wall? If you care about art you should encourage kids and all people to explore art.

This is such a cute and cool Barbie. I love it! Barbie is a toy and is like almost every other doll is not realistic. Even more "lifelike" dolls have unbelievably long eyelashes, large eyes, small chins and jaws, tiny noses, and 3 times the hair of most humans. I do not think that the link between body image and self-esteem and Barbies is as strong as some fear. I think kids get more of a cue for what they should look like from real people, airbrushed, surgically enhanced, or not. In my opinion, how girls feel about their bodies is greatly influenced by the women and girls in their life. Mothers, relatives, friends, and peers make a bigger impact than toys. As for tattoos, I have one that my clothes cover. Instead of attacking a collector’s edition Barbie, parents should educate their own children about tattoos and the consequences of body modification.

I also have purple/pink highlights and I get lots of compliments from people of all different ages and backgrounds. I’ve also received some criticism of my hair, but I don’t care because having my hair the color I want makes me happy. I recently worked at a junior high tutoring in math and college prep. While my hair color was permitted for me as an employee, it was against the dress code for students. Some of the kids loved my hair and would say, "I want hair like that! I wish I could dye my hair." I would tell them when they grew up they could do their hair however they wanted. My crazy hair color caused no issues of kids dying their hair or parent complaints. My experience as an honors student involved in student government and community service made more of an impact than any aspect of my outward appearance.

I bought a liquid soap refill pouch a long time ago. I bought it because it was economical, used less packaging, and I use a pretty soap dispenser anyway. It is really easy to refill my pump bottle out of the pouch. I will by another when I use the first one up. I would definitely buy more refills and wish there were things I could buy refills for.

These aren't the greatest suggestions I agree. That being said I have had parties both where I have cooked and provided everything and where guests have brought food, drinks, or dessert. Both ways are fun. Luckily for me my 2 best friends are foodies and everything they make is great. When money is tight I'd rather have an informal party where everyone chipped in and brought something than not see friends. With my group of friends we are just as happy to go out to an upscale restaurant as we are to have hot dogs and s'mores. I also am not friends with people who are takers only, so its not like I shell out a bunch for parties without my friends doing the same for me. It all evens out and that's what good friends do.
