It depends on if your friend can handle it. I live in one of these, I enter and exit through the back and even possibly have drug dealers as neighbors but I love my apt, and its so affordable. I can pretty much do anything to it. Over 2 years it is wearing on me that all the responsible people live on the high floors, and people I meet in the apt, instantly go "Oh you live next to them?" But I think its worth it a the end of the day. Plus its always a surprise when people come over and expect disaster to see my awesome 10 ft ceilings and APT inspired designs here and there. :) good luck! We have shiny white ikea floors in my office. Scuffs are our numero uno enemy. We have restricted shoe type, and also do the shoe rubbing trick when someone just can not bear to not wear shoes to match their outfit. :) How To Prevent Scuff Marks On Black Painted Floor? Good Questions |

Oh those are great ideas! I took a vacay to Hawaii recently, and then came back to oh so dreary Seattle. Me and my beau bought a bunch of Hawaii salts and seasonings, Kona coffee and pineapple flavored sugar. Now we cook with our "souvenirs" and dream we are back in paradise on an occasional basis. Maybe try something that will complement the granite and not distract from it. Having something that is a "carpet fiber" will be high maintenance, and heaven forbid you drop a red sauce on it. Maybe try a Bolon Product. Bolon at Curran They can even add a anti fatigue matting to the back of the mat to ease the pain you are having. Did I also mention Bolon also comes in great colors?
