I was hoping for more functional advice, for instance the bedding advice should have been "have a spare set of bedding", now THAT is a lifesaver between loads :) The Bare Minimum: 10 Absolute Essentials for Every Home |

@designgratislondon I must second that. I suppose its just the idea of getting out all my ideas out there even if no one ever reads my blog :) Meanwhile though, I just checked yours out and have to say it is fantastic, will definitely be checking back! I feel people that are critical about others (in a mean way) online are probably just as likely to do the same if they visit a persons home. Flipping through house tours or articles in Apartment Therapy or design blogs are a great way to take a peek into how others interpret design trends and offer a great deal of inspiration that I personally love. If something like the layout, paint colors or chairs is not to my liking it doesn't matter- cause it's not my home anyway. I suppose I try to see how a site like AT pertains to myself in a positive way instead of using it to hurt someones feelings. Over-Sharing and Over-Caring: Decorating Our Homes in the Digital Age |

Love this house, and all the small details like her bedroom wallpaper, teal colored poofs and the cool white elephant over the fireplace. Sarah's Warm Bohemian Home House Tour |

Hmm we just bought engineered click lock walnut floors for our condo literally yesterday, so not sure what the verdict will be with marks from pets and heels- yet. However from what I have been obsessively researching the thicker your top layer is the better chance to refinish it at some point once maybe even twice, also the thickness helps with it feeling more solid. We are not gluing them on the concrete because our HOA requires underlayment (boo). While I am a bit of a clean freak and neither my wife and I wear shoes in the house, we do have two little doggies, so just in case any accidents happen through the years and the floors need fixing we purchased an extra box as a spare. The beauty of engineered click lock floors is that you can pop out any puzzle piece that needs changing and lay a perfectly new one right back it. I have been looking around for wallpaper for a little bit now and stumbled upon a similar or maybe identical print to the office area wallpaper featured here, available from "Graham & Brown". Since it was super creative and from the comments most people loved it, thought I'd share! :) Hakarl & Jili Build a Family Home House Tour |

I get absolutely annoyed that the giant basket which is meant for dirty laundry is always sitting NEXT to a giant pile of gym clothes, and leaving shoes on the carpet is a big thing too, the edges around the front door clearly bear the scars even though, again, -see I have "tried" to come up with a solution- we have a perfectly nice shoe rack by the door, Which Household Habits Drive You Batty?
