source a great outdoor table and chairs, twinkly lights and plant pots and plan a great outdoor space to have coffee in the morning or wine in the evening before or after tackling the rooms indoors. I found decorating our patio was far less daunting than a three bedroom house! Its a great place to show off and share with your visitors and to escape to when you are mid-project indoors! And when you do get to it, have fun shopping for the house, but steer clear of light colored sofas if you are planning on having dogs or children.

I love the openness and sense of light and space. As others have said, try living with the empty space if you don't have an immediate need. Looks like a great place for doing cartwheels. If you need storage, what about tall metal lockers on the wall with pipe? A new hanging light is a MUST and a fun thing to hunt for.

I would love to stay in this guest room! I like that you recovered the headboard to lighten things up, at the same time going dark and cosy on the walls. Puts my 'guest room' to shame with its green 'feature wall' (added by previous owner) and non-closing venetian blinds (that I always feel embarrassed about when guests come to stay but promptly forget about after they leave). And this room looks huge compared to any of our bedrooms. I'm green with envy

when i first saw my kitchen in the real estate photos prior to purchasing I knew I would have to replace the entirely blue kitchen (benchtop, vinyl,cubboards)... that was five years ago, i haven't got further than measuring and people always ask my how my kitchen is coming along....also, have a doorknob-sized whole in a bedroom wall following a door slamming incident - which I refused to fix as my husband had made me so mad at the time...three years ago. Oh, blinds in guest room need replacing as they haven't opened/closed since we bought house... again, five years ago. Sorry guests.

you could just wait until the pan gets cold enough and then give it to the dog - it'll be 'clean' in a jiffy

After years of living with shower-over-the-bathtub bathrooms we started looking to buy our first house. I was adamant that I wanted a separate shower, as I was sick of falling over in or out of the bath in my pre-coffee morning showers. Our house has a great sized bathroom with no bath, i have a shower and lots of free space. We don't have kids so not a problem, although it is more difficult to get the dog in the shower than it would be into a bath ha ha

Found a red series seven in perfect condition in a junk shop in London on the way to the tube. It was priced at 15 pounds, but the trader offered it for a tenner. SOLD! The are really comfortable, and quite flexible - beware of imitations.
