Being the good mom and nursing student that I am, I let my 3 year old go to bed in just her diaper (per her request) and figure if she isn't waking up then she can't be that cold ;) of course for babies this wouldn't work...

I dress my baby I'd just pajamas and as long as her core isn't cold then I'm not concerned. Her hands are always a bit cold but it doesn't reflect the temp of the baby according to pediatrics teacher.

Am I the only one who doesn't think the government should provide you with a gift package for your baby? Complaining that Finland's government provides a maternity box and ours's doesn't might be one of the most insane things I've heard all year. Get pregnant buy your own stuff. Who would have thought?

Am I the only one that thinks it's strange to have a hubs photograph of the children on the wall? I don't know. I think some nice family photos or pictures of friends or animals would be better. If what they're going for is personalization then maybe a small picture of the child along with photos of others?

However long they want. I figure if they're proud of it and we have space, why not? Obviously I dont allow them to hang it just any place but we have a huge wall to display art and then anywhere in their bedroom. Their walls are covered in art, way better then buying generic pieces in my mind. It's look beautiful and creative! If the run out of space they can choose to take some down or not display new work.

kidishes for cups, plates and bowls. like other poster mentioned they are tempered glass, more difficult to break than regular glass, although the kids don't know that! Haven't had a single break and my toddler has been using them since she was 2, she's not 3.5

Tutorial or kit, please? I've done lots of research on splashpads and most don't hold water, they simply shoot water in air and then drain. The fact that your's a small pool of water is brilliant. Even the adults can lounge in it! And as a San francisco family, I'm in love with your backyard!!!

Whats the purpose of a separate sleep/play area? Most kids sleep and play in the same room, what's the problem? They play when they're awake and sleep when it's time. Maybe I'm missing something here.

My kids love being inside, their rooms and the house! Every kid is so different. The room is so peaceful, looks like a lovely place to curl up with a book.

We use wooden wine crates on wheels under the toddler bed and crib for books. They store nothing else except books which serves two purposes (1) makes it easy for kiddos to know what goes in then (2) easy access for reading when toddler is in bed. It's worked great for us and it is a cheap solution ($3/crate) for much needed book storage

Pretty simple concept for the money. A small book case next to a table. Connect the two and buy some bins and some paint. Could be an easy weekend project, and any artist would love!

Are the wall bins god for toys? I like that they take up zero floor space and minimal space in general. Do you find yo can fit "enough" in each one? How did you label them? Or is that not a label/print I see on them? Thanks!

where are the toys kept? i don't see a place the baby can reach for toys. Maybe i missed it. Our rooms are full of buckets/bins/shelves for baby and toddler to reach. Sure it doesn't look at nice but what other options are there.

Re: nlemany's
Im not sure what you mean by "unethical toys" but my in laws are constantly buying our children gifts. Its a nice gesture, that makes them happy but my life and home more complicated. I happily took the gifts the first few years and then it got to a point that I was just giving the gifts away as she gave them to me.

eventually I talked to her about it but I simply said that we were short on space and things were getting crowded. I asked her to just run it by me if she was thinking of a gift for the kids. It worked wonderfully. She buys WAY less now, if nothing and she wasn't offended.

Its a tough one because it makes grandparents happy to buy their grandchildren gifts, excessive gift buying though can be a challenge.
