That looks like it was a lot of work. I'm impressed. I paid a little bit for my faux card catalog DVD cases and they don't look nearly as nice as that.

I love it. I'm so jealous of everything in it, especially the Queen.

Somehow the new version looks more dated... but I like them both. I would've just changed the tile, paint, appliances and kept the cabinets.

I like the chalkboard paint idea, but my initial reaction was to have a photo of something you like printed on canvas and staple it on.

What's with these weird themes lately on Apartment Therapy? Okay one Wes Anderson post about color is fine, but I don't see that influence here and I don't really care further. The other day I had to sort through a bunch of posts about household pests...

Agreed. I buy so much on Amazon that another twenty dollars isn't going to hurt me. My only gripe is that the quality of the shipping HAS gotten worse over the last year. Everything seemed to come exclusively UPS, but now I get some things from FedEx (cringe).

I need understood the coffee stain problem either, but I wash everything in a dishwasher. My hand-wash only mugs aren't stained though and I just use blue Scotch-Brite sponges...

I would get rid of it. You can remove it carefully and salvage it for someone who is in the same position as you, but who may actually like the bright green. There's nothing wrong with replacing original details on a home with something from the same era. Your happiness in your own space is what's most important.

Thanks for clarifying @PeePop. Hadn't had my coffee yet. The Nielsen Bainbridge frames I buy come with archival mats and UV blocking glass. Blick has the best prices I've found.

I would actually have a lot of fun trying to fix this. Sherwin Williams can match any stain and I think that, based on the overall simple look of the piece, a very simple small corbel on either side would do the trick.

I'm not going to click on each of these, but I would suggest that you don't buy any frames that aren't listed as acid free. I buy most of my frames from Dick Blick as they have reasonable prices and state what is archival. If it doesn't say so assume that it will yellow your art.

I got my first record player this past Christmas and I was planning on getting one of the single width Expedit shelves since everyone seems to love them for vinyl storage. With thinner walls I'm not sure this new version will be able to support the weight as well. Not sure if I should run out and get the current model or wait and hope that the new version is actually an improvement.

I probably wouldn't have gone with white, but it does definitely look much nicer this way. Good job.

I didn't mean to start a war! I just think that there's a lot of great art out there that would support individual artists as opposed to selling a print of something that anyone with minor Photoshop skills can create. I don't think that my comment was hypocritical of an earlier one either. I disagree with spending a lot of money on something like a lamp from Anthropologie, what I consider to be a majorly overpriced store, when you can make one yourself from already-existing products (and I never condoned Copyright violation so don't force that into what I said).

It bugs me that so many people are making money off of public domain images in uncreative ways that almost anyone can do! Buy real art from real artists who need the money and do the rest yourself!
