Thanks to all for the kind words about my home! A few answers to questions below...

ariariari, jakem I actually built the bed (more about it here http://bspokeblog.com/?p=2642)! It's based on the Montgomery Upholstered Headboard from Pottery Barn. I think that Ana White has a free plan for something similar.

cathgrl1, the postcards are originals! They were my mom's. She had an awesome old postcard collection that she gave to me. I chose my favorites and framed them.

heirloom, I'm on the west side of the city, but I used to live in St. Anthony Park in St. Paul, and I went to college in St. Paul. I love that city (and this one). I have read Freckles, and loved it! Her books are wonderful.

Loora, saucefiend, I actually only read a couple of these books (Girl of the Limberlost being one of them). The rest are from thrift stores, and I bought them specifically to put them "backwards" on the shelf. I personally love the texture of the pages, and I like the way that they become an abstract and uncluttered space-filler on the shelves. I do get my fair share of odd comments on them though!

MandyDavis, janet uws, I read Girl of the Limberlost as a child, and fell in love. I wanted to BE Elnora. I picked it up a few years ago and re-read it. Such a timeless work!
