I found a great minifig storage solution on at http://www.etsy.com/shop/DansPlugsandLures.It's a wall mounted shelf with built in 2x2 plates so the minifigs don't fall out. (There aren't any currently listed but you can see them under sold items, and it looks like there's a new model that's more like bleacher stands which is also cool.)
