I would guess this is just a frame for a woven swing and the weaving has been removed.

Is the rug still the same? I really like the color scheme but the table is so small-how will you really fit a dinner party at it? If I were her I would have kept the old sideboard, painted it white and changed the handles, and set it up as barstool seating to open up the space.

I made a blue stump with green leaves on a bulletin board following these instructions. You need a lot of pushpins but it looks pretty cute.
