John Hodgman's Areas of my Expertise is a delightful book, narrated by Hodgman himself. What really puts this over the edge is the delightful collaboration with his friend and accomplished musician Jonathon Coulton plus a cameo from Paul Rudd. It's a great listen.

The Logitech Anywhere MX is a great portable mouse, but it does not work on glass. I bought it before I had a glass desk so I didn't think much of it until I switched working surfaces and was sorely disappointed.

I have since upgraded to the Logitech Performance MX which does, in fact, work on glass. It is also more comfortable with it's larger size and incredibly more functional with a scroll button and a nifty thumb button. I still use the Anywhere, just not at the office on my glass desk. Can't beat its size and function.

On a warm, clear spring day at my generically beautiful midwestern university campus last year, I put the final touches on my very last final of my senior year. I am done (with the exception of one paper I only need to email in to a professor)!

I pack up my belongings and head back to my apartment to take a well-deserved mid-morning siesta after pulling an all nighter the previous evening. A few hours later, I wake up with the afternoon sun on my face ready to read my paper one more time and turn in the masterpiece to cap off my college career. I open up my timbuk2 to a wet surprise. I did not securely fasten my water bottle top and my MacBook Pro had been taking a bath for the past four hours. Cause of death-- drowning.

My professor let me essentially dictate and discuss the paper to him to avoid hours of rework. All is well with the world. Well-- all is well with the world minus one computer.
