Hey it's me David again checking back in. There were a few more questions I'd like to answer...

Myrna - the barn door hardware is from Tractor Service Company (we did live on a farm for several years).

Chahn - the white floors are simply painted poplar wood.

Christine123 - the pendant lamps are from our friend Monique's shop listed in our interview up top. Not sure of the maker. And the grey living room chairs are vintage from antique shops that we had redone in linen.

JMichie - those are good ol' IKEA chairs!

madmartha - that crazy wheeled table is actually a medical gurney from an industrial salvage dealer.

Thanks again for all the warm and gracious comments and feeback!! Cheers. David Butler

Tenbar - the gardens are entirely from scratch. You're looking at 8 seasons of sweat! ha ha. In fact, on Amy's flickr page http://www.flickr.com/photos/22397217@N02/
there are some GREAT before and after images that show the process. My back hurts just thinking about it. - David

I love how clean this place looks. Does it always look this clean? Ha ha. No. - Hey everyone it's me David Butler. Sorry I was gone over the weekend but I want to try to answer some of your questions... Amy is getting ready for another trade show coming up so I'll do my best!!

There are a total of 4 cats! They are all hams for the camera.

Mr Modtomic, I think you're looking into Amy's studio with the quilts and pillows - we don't have any images of our bedrooms up on the tour. We didn't want to get all MTV Cribs up in it! ha.

That IS an IKEA light simply spray painted gold. It was a pain in the butt to do it too. Tedious would be a good word, but worth it!

We do have a TV out. If you look at image #27 you can barely see it off to the right. It sits on the stainless steel cabinets (we had made by a restaurant supply company - not that much more than trying to find them at a shop).

Spanky - I love your comment on the light shade! You are Wayyyy more observant than we are!! ha ha.

Shannont - we literally designed the kitchen ourselves. So it's all custom work we've had done here in central Ohio from different stone masons and an amazing cabinet maker. The wood is a grainy maple that 'somewhat' takes on a hickory character with the finish we settled upon. The stainless steel cabinet beside the fridge is vintage, and we had it built in. There should be some lovely images of the metro shelves and rubber bins we lived out of in our living and dining room for almost a year while this came together!

The dark wide plank flooring is recycled from barns and factories. We replaced the white shag carpet (for real) that was there when we bought the house. The lower level is simply poplar flooring painted white that we put down on top of the concrete base.

The top level of the house has one large living room that connects to the dining area when you enter the door. On the other side of the grey stone fireplace is the 'blue' living area with the TV and also the kitchen. Basically if it is a dark wood or stone floor it's upstairs, and if it's a white floor it's downstairs in our studio space.

I would like to thank you all for your VERY humbling comments and thank you all for your encouraging thoughts. We've really built this over time and love it very much. So do the cats! I'm very glad you came to check it out and we didn't even have to set out snacks & wine!

Let me know if you have any other questions!

thanks all!! David & Amy
