while i appreciate the thought of cutting down on waste (not to mention how using those mini pencils makes my handwriting look like a four year-old's...), i think that replacing the lists entirely with an app ignores the fact that there are still lots of people who don't have smartphones or who aren't the most tech savvy. if they wanted to make the experience even more overwhelming, then this would be one way to do it, hah.

if your elbow can stand it, use an x-acto knife and a cutting mat and a ruler (if you care about consistent width).
