When I'm working at home - doing administrative work, blogging, reading other websites, etc. - I'm almost always at my desk. I appreciate having the ergonomic set-up - I've got a laptop, but it's hooked up to a cinema display, and I use a separate wireless mouse and keyboard. And I've made my office a lovely place to work. Here are some photos:

Sometimes I curl up in bed and read on my iPad, but the vast majority of time I'm at my desk, in my office.

Working from Home: Where Do You Actually Work?

I'm a Freecycle group moderator. We turn down requests from people outside our geographic area, because having non-local members makes Freecycle work less well. (We direct such applicants to the groups closer to them, so they can join those groups.) We also send out an email that all prospective members must reply to - it's simple for people to respond to it, and doing this helps keep the spammers out.

If you're having problems joining your group, check with the moderators. They are there to help! (And if your group happens to have poor moderators, I'm sorry.)

Just some of the many things I love about my home:

I'm with @DINY - the #1 thing is it's mine.

It's close to the ocean, and next door to commercial flower fields. It's rarely hot, and the fog can be beautiful.

It's got a great floor plan for my purposes, and lots of light. And it's a perfect size for me. Part of that is having a room that's dedicated to being my home office.

The fountain in the back yard attracts birds like crazy.

My brand new Toto toilet is a low-flow that actually works.

The neighborhood: My neighbors are great; among many other things, they take care of my cat when I'm gone. I've got a vibrant Freecycle community. There's an organic farmers market on Saturdays, and a wonderful supermarket 3 minutes from home. There are five independent bookstores in town.

If you live in earthquake territory, as I do, you're best off to have your bookshelves bolted to the wall. It's a good safety precaution, but it means "consider a move" is not a trivial thing.

I've done a number of blog posts collecting just this kind of calendar. Here's the last one, with related links to more calendars at the end. (You can also search my blog for calendars.) I generally avoid self-links, but in this case it's really my best way to answer the question!

The Hook Box was carried by DWR a number of years ago - but no more. (It cost $270 back in Oct. 2007, and went on sale for $98 in Dec. 2007.)

Since the Luca Nichetto website says it's made for Bosa (http://www.bosatrade.com/home/home_gen_en.htm) I've just sent an email to Bosa asking if there's anywhere those of us in the USA can purchase it. I'll share any reply I get.
