I absolutely LOVE this store! I always find something I want or gifts for friends - plus the owner, Trish, is so welcoming which always makes me happy I stopped in.

I couldn't believe how much I wanted to buy in that new West Elm catalog! I love this new silver color!

And actually, as annoying as early Christmas stuff is, I'm kinda happy knowing I can get a few of those pillows (the linen 'xmas tree') and get a jump on creating a festive atmosphere in my apt for the holidays.

Maria and Sam are the cutest kids ever! And I heard that they were very good little travelers on this last trip - plus they shake those maracas like nobody's business! Love you monkeys! - Auntie B

HB has been getting better and better and this last issue really blew me away. The houses they featured were truly amazing and the paint feature was really helpful. Loved this issue!

I saw the movie last night and was admiring those living room chairs - the upholstered ones with wood trim. It's nice to know there's a site where you can find out about these things...

Maybe I can now find out about the kitchen cabinets in that Meg Ryan/Hugh Jackman movie "Kate and Leopold."

A new IKEA just opened last week in Portland, Oregon. It was a fun first visit - a reconnaissance mission. I will go back to see everything again - and pick up a catalog!

Meatballs were tasty, too! ;)

I really like how he's mounted the panels to boards. I got my Nama Rococco panel framed (cost a ton) and now I wish I'd had it mounted like in the top photo. Nice.

Radio Flyer wagon - the wood kind with the removable sides - is a great gift that they (and the parents) will enjoy. Plus, it's something they will have forever! I still have mine!

Years ago I bought a rug for my bedroom from Pottery Barn about and had the same burning/tar smell. My dad now uses it in his garage!

I've stayed away from PB rugs since just in case.

I like B. It makes the black items in your kitchen pop more - plus it looks more upbeat to me.

I bought my panel of Frech Dot from Rose and Radish and had it framed for my bedroom - and it looks great! Now I'm just trying to figure out my bedding and windows... Perhaps once I get that all figured out I'll be brave enought to share the results!

Pinklovesbrown,
Thanks for the info on your book lights! An IKEA in Portland is opening soon, so I'll have to check out those lights!

I have one and I really like it. It makes it tres easy to dust and get into narrow spots. Also, I use it to entice spiders off the ceiling or from up high on the walls so I don't have to get up on a chair and squash the spider on my fresh paint job.

This looks fantastic! I'm a sucker for book display. Please tell me about your overhead bookcase lights. I'm looking to do something similar and would like to know where you got yours!

Also, I really like the dark walls!
