So adorable! I could easily live in this thing!

I grew up in a suburb of Baltimore City where everyone I knew lived in row homes. What always impressed me were the homes that always seemed to have something cooking on the stove. I was a foodie even then! Other than that, I remember going into a couple of homes that had fireplaces and always wanted a home with one. I'm now 48 and still waiting ...

Love, love, love red in the kitchen and main living areas (never in the bedroom)! Lately, I've been sneaking in bits of pink as well. The red and pink give it a more homey and less graphic, artsy look.

I, too, love dollhouses. I've built about a total of 4 in my lifetime. Right now, I'm into simple living and saving money, so I've backed away from that hobby. Now I sew doll clothes from all the little fabric swatches I've collected and scavenged over the past few years. Takes up a lot less space, but not quite as fun as the dollhouses. Sigh!

I LOVE small! I just moved into a 1,000 square foot apartment, and it feels HUGE! My end goal is to live simply in a travel trailer. People may think I'm nuts, but there are so many benefits to living small and simply. There truly is a strong sense of freedom in not being weighed down my endless collections and possessions that possess us.

As someone with three auto-immune disorders that affect muscles and joint, squatting is definitely out. We are taught to get up and move every 20 minutes, even if we have to set an alarm to remind us. Having a family and pets makes it easier. You're always getting up to do something, clean something, find something ....

I adore fresh flowers and super organized closets and cabinets. Unfortunately, I cannot afford a cleaning service as I've opted for a really nice neighborhood to live in. Oh, and the article mentioned something on the stove or in the oven, but left out the breadmaker ... what a heavenly smell, especially on a cold winter day.

Is it me, or does that first photo look like an impossibly narrow room? How could one sit at that table?!

The little girl in the ad is wearing a bathing suit, not underwear. Bathing suits in advertisements in those days were meant to evoke a feeling of leisurely luxury. As to the impact of dishwashers versus hand-washing dishes, I've done my homework -- dishwashers actually save energy and water if run only when full. Otherwise, hand-washing wins. I used to like hand-washing because it felt good to my arthritic hands, but muscle and joint problems have forced me to rely on the dishwasher. It was never a problem to fill up for my hubby and myself because I enjoy cooking and he enjoys eating!

Not to get all political, but there are a heck of a lot of Gen Yers who are unemployed and have no hope for owning land to garden anytime soon.

Crying or even screaming children don't bother me, but kids who are blatantly disrespectful of the property of others, who curse their parents and others yet the parents completely ignore or even encourage their poor behavior. Sorry, but I've dealt with ADHD meltdowns. Being a parent or guardian means you've accepted a responsibility to teach a child how to act properly in public, even if that child has health issues. Your child takes precedence over your errands.

I found an app for my cell phone that recites whatever I type into it. I type reminders of what I need to accomplish that day. Being reminded of impending appointments or projects keeps me from falling back to sleep and gets my mind going.

I love Blandwagon's idea. Hate these things but understand why someone might collect them. If you have enough, spell out the word "tolerance".

I am 48 years old and am now sizing down to things that I absolutely need only. The extra blankets, extra dishes, extra food, etc., that the writer finds grown-up, now feel overwhelming and unnecessary to me. I guess what feels "grown-up" is subjective.

I recently bought a catnip plant. My cat discovered it while I was unloading groceries and squashed the life out of it in sheer seconds. He's a bit of a heifer.
