I second the Alton Brown recipe. It's easy and tastes a lot like the boxed kind.

It's cute, but I don't have a place to put it in my kitchen. I think that means I have too much stuff.

I bake a lot, but the giving it away part - not so much. That is an excellent idea. Thank you.

G&T's are my favorite. Now I have to try it with the elderflower liqueur. Mmm.

To me, No. 5 is critical. The first year we had our garden way out in the back yard. It did OK, but I never seemed to get out there often enough to weed. Now we have raised beds and containers right outside the back door. So every time I go to the car, I walk by it and can pull a weed or two, or water. It's much more convenient. And gets more attention.

I love this idea. I think this would work much better than overhead cabinets, especially with heavier dishes like stoneware.

I haven't been to Oregon for several years, but whenever I go, Tillamook Cheese Factory is on my must visit list. The cheese curds are wonderful.

My husband and I just made gin a couple weeks ago. We didn't have the kit, just bought the spices individually (so now we can make gin several more times). It's pretty good, though I think a second straining would improve it. I like the bottles in the kit though.

Wow, that is VERY different from my home here in the midwest, but I would LOVE to have the Steinway (and the room for it). Can I come play it? I hope it gets played.

I was going to make snow ice cream after our last snow here, but I didn't think of it until the snow had been on the ground for a day or so. Though it still looked clean and untouched, I decided against it. Wish I had thought of it right after it snowed.

I'm also left handed and don't have any problems in the kitchen. I do have issues with pots and other gadgets that only have pour spouts on the left side of the handle so you have to use your right hand. I have bad aim when pouring with my right hand.

Definitely worth making. The commercial kind we can get here is too sweet and contains HFCS, which I try to avoid at all costs.

Butter was on sale here last week, so I really stocked up. I probably have 20 lbs. in the freezer. So as long as I take it out soon enough to thaw, I'm good to go with my baking.

I brought in my pots of rosemary, sage, and basil (and a little parsley) from outside for the winter. I wish I had some thyme too. I'm pretty sure the rosemary will make it through the winter because I have done it before, but I don't know about the others. Fresh herbs in the store are about $4 here. I wish I could find a deal like this.

These were so delicious. Even though I started to make them, then discovered I didn't have an apple and had to wait until the next day to finish. We both loved them.

I've tried different herbs indoors, and the only one that has lasted through the winter is rosemary. Which reminds me, I have a pot of rosemary outside that I need to bring in before it freezes.

I just tried this, microwaving a couple ears at a time for 4 minutes. Out of 14 ears, only a couple worked well. The rest left lots of silk. Oh well, it was fun to try.

I always use black cocoa in my baked goods. I use about 1/2 and 1/2 with regular or dutched cocoa. I love the flavor and it makes chocolate cake and brownies look really chocolatey.

I agree. I almost always have a square of good dark chocolate after a meal. If it's good quality chocolate, you don't need very much.

Our local farmer's market has bee pollen, but I haven't tried it. I will have to get some this summer.
