I feel the head board is too WHITE. I think you should paint the frame a Purplish color, like the drops on the sconces. and then color up SOME of the dots the same colors as the sconce drops. That way it would be more of an Art Object, versus looking like an embossing.

A fun way of decorating inexpensively, with objects that can be pitched away after one Summer Season. If left outside and stolen, SO WHAT!

I think Black is a wonderful color, for furniture and accessories that appear in photos in magazines. BUT in the real word, Black is a dust magnet, and FIVE seconds after you have dusted, it is dusty looking again. Having some black, and dark colored painted furniture, I know first hand about the upkeep.

I think "Maison Plastique" is a wonderful space for a weekend house. The visitor would HOPEFULLY only be in it at night, for a few days. Luckily there are a lot of window walls to cut the exaggerated color scheme. At night, with the lights turned down, it could POSSIBLY be an inviting space.

I look at the plumbing pipe shelves, not as a shelving unit, but a Sculptural Art Installation in ones home. The print of the lady and radiator together are a nice vertical grouping, which directs the eye upward. The four other vertical rows of piping, help to strengthen the vertical tension of this display.

I think Elisabeth did a nice job decorating her dining room. I give her a lot of credit for picking the medium-dark gray for the walls, which is not an exact match, but goes nicely with the floor covering. Elisabeth counterbalanced all the dark with Bright White, Teal, Yellow, and Green which give warmth and light to the space. Her selection of decorative elements, that are all taller than wide, and the way she mounted the drapes help suggest height in the room. BRAVO ELISABETH!

Expensive or not, the spaces have a surreal-kitchy kind of vibe. Even in the so-called elegant spaces, there is kind of a glitzy-gaudiness that is surprising for the Kips Bay Show House. The Veranda is probably the most CLASSIC "Kips Bay" of all the spaces.

Light, Airy, and Happy elements, counterbalanced by selective weighty objects to anchor the rooms. The inside and outside spaces blend together as one.
