I've never tried it, but since you're on the top floor, maybe it would be worth looking into painting the roof white to reflect back some of the sunlight? You'd have to get the owners permission, but maybe you could justify it as a building improvement? How Do I Keep My Apartment from Becoming a Sauna? Good Questions |

The good thing about this method is that it doesn't have to have any ingredients but water, flour, salt, and yeast. They don't really address the issue of the bread going stale, which I think would happen long before 60 days, and is a separate issue from mold. Long-Lasting Bread: Would You Eat It? |

I've never understood why you can't by a combo fridge/freezer where the freezer half is bigger than the fridge half, or even as big. Maybe it's because I live alone, but I definitely could use more freezer space than fridge space. My fridge is always half empty and my freezer is always jam-packed. Short On Space?
