i've had dreams about undiscovered rooms filled with cool-ass sheet-covered antique furniture and even extra tiled bathrooms with the best showers imaginable. i also have entire dream-buildings and beautiful landscapes and roadways and little towns that i always revisit! when i was around 5, i used to dream about the frito bandito chasing me across mexico, too. i always knew when he was catching-up because i'd hear that damnable, old frito bandito jingle! so, i guess i started young. :0)

and why would i hang my books upside down again?

i really, really applaud your patience and understanding, regina. and now you have a great finale for the drafting table chronicles. maybe at should start a post for people to tell their best craigslist moving stories? could be entertaining!

btw, the grips have to be ready for anything and everything if the camera's rolling, so they're not really free to schlep. and the producer must have had city permits for the block to be able to film there. they really don't have any obligations to the people living on the street except to be cooperative...which they were, even though it was a pain in the butt! (if you're in the middle of a renovation, totally different story.)

my bathroom sink drain was running slow, so i checked-out some drain cleaners at a local plumbing supply place. one of the guys there, who had been a plumber for 20 years, told me to skip the toxic stuff and use baking soda! (gquaker, you're definitely on to something!) he said to run HOT tap water for a minute or two, sprinkle a cup of baking soda down the drain, then follow it up with 2 spaghetti-sized pots full of BOILING water. well, it worked! turned out to be a great tip...and green too!

i spend about 6 weeks at the graves hotel in minneapolis sleeping on this crazy-good miracle. omg..i've never slept so well, especially away from home! i need a new mattress too (probably one from bower natural bedding), but i am definitely going to top it off this featherbed. love!

where is this marie person? with so many responses, at the very least she owes a big ol' thank you to the at community. marie? are you out there? yeah, right...

(on the bright side, now we all know how to get rid of those pesky-bad vibes and otherwise that hole themselves up in our personal spaces. maxwell...take note.)

nothing like random gunshots waking you up in the middle of the night....three times. when i first moved to chicago, i lived in a garden apt. in west bucktown. i'd dive onto the floor in the middle of the night since gangstahs aren't exactly known for their sharpshooting skills. i love the ukranian village!

i've got this circular, reptile-look, deep burgundy pleather carrier complete with clasps that's on the floor next to my bed. (from hold everything - how appropriate - a million years ago.) it even looks good with my herman miller deco bedroom set...and it's portable. love!
