my mother used to do this to me all.the.time. and it drove me nuts. it would have been much nicer if she had spoken with me about it or let me know beforehand. It has definitely made me paranoid about privacy and people touching my stuff. i could never trust her after that.

I did the same thing to my ironing board in the wall!

Except I did use wood to make actually shelves that go all the way across. It's amazing how much I can fit in there! And thank goodness, because we really needed the space.

and angorian, I do iron. but the old wood ironing board that was extremely low to the ground, in my tiny kitchen, is not where I want to be doing it. :)

it's beautiful, but...um...2,400 sf is NOT a small house. especially in L.A. (says the owner of a 700 sf house :) )

i always say that the only thing i miss about living in NYC is the public transportation system/not needing a car. so yes, i would happily give up my car if i didn't need it!
