I like to eat them raw over short grain brown rice with a tiny sprinkle of salt. About a 1/2-1 cup of rice with 3 cracked eggs. I break the yolk right before I eat it so there's some in every bite. Ingredient Spotlight: Quail Eggs |

I've been enjoying raw squash and zucchini this summer, and a long skinny one like that is perfect. Slice as thin as a nickle and toss with thin sliced red onion, feta cheese, capers and/or olives and a drizzle of olive oil. Nice and refreshing! What Can I Do With This Absolutely Enormous Squash? I did this with carrots, turnips and radishes and it's very stinky! My refrigerator wafts a stink when I open it and after I ate some at lunchtime one of my coworkers walked in the room and commented that it smells like someone's lunch rotted. They taste great, but any idea who is the offender or how to reduce the smell? (I suspect the turnip but I'm not sure) Quick Pickled Roots Guest Post from Tigress of Tigress in a Pickle |

Skillets are made to evenly distribute heat. Place your wrapped meat between two skillets and it'll thaw rather quickly. Have as much surface contact as possible. (Though I usually go for the water method as it's the fastest without using the microwave) Kitchen Shortcut: How to Thaw Meat Quickly | Apartment Therapy The Kitchn |
