I looove the room featured in the cover photo, but the rest just seems pretty.... regular.

Please consider replacing the light above the dining room table. It's a cool light, but not the right size or proportion for that location.

Love the white with splashes of colour. Love the photography and other art. Love the sense of humour. This is my style, fully conceptualized and executed. Thanks for sharing.

I should have loved this place; it's even "my" shade of green! But it feels a bit like a series of magazine-style vignettes, with too many gimmicky on-trend touches to feel authentic. I wanted to love it, but to me it lacks warmth, character, and authenticity. Thank you for sharing though. It's beautiful home and I'm sorry I couldn't give you the wild compliments of the above posters.

repressd I also hate chalk and chalk dust. But strangely I love the idea of a blackboard in my house. My compromise is that I am painting a small overhead beam and its support with the paint. I'm using magnetic paint too. *love*

Lovely!! It looks like a wonderful place to sit back and relax with a good book or good company, or simply with a good view. I would love to be able to spend time there.

And amygoog, there is art. I noticed at least one painting. Beyond that: the wood is art!!!

Amazing! A true oasis. Love your use of colour and admire your quick work. 6 months! Wow! After 4 years our place isn't even close, and we're not in Nunavut.

PS Go territories!

I love it!! No it isn't practical and yes the sheets would be a pain, but c'mon! What a fun idea!

I'm happy for Melissa's clarification, but it still seems a bit museum-like for a little girl. Just my feeling...

I like the little red chairs and the animal artwork, but overall... I'm sorry: it seems cluttered and overwhelming.

Question for those of you who have found these great deals: were you in an isolated or rural or (forgive me) less worldly area? I'm in a major urban centre and I can't imagine the shop owners/sellers letting such amazing items sneak out for a song. But maybe I'm just not lucky enough or determined enough!

Agree with keygirlus. The key is minimizing the amount of fabric used and using scraps for other purposes. Folding and draping is wasteful.

But I like the other points in the article. I am trying to be better at this.
