I made this for dinner tonight and it was so delicious (and easy)! I softened the kale as suggested by closettherapist and substituted mozzarella for the parmesan as my husband doesn't like parmesan. Thank you for this recipe, I will definitely be making it a lot from now on!

Our rental home has something that looks like this: http://www.amazon.com/Kohler-K-3760-NA-33-Inch-Stainless-Kitchen/dp/B002UYJ8IE, except ours is bigger.

Initially I didn't understand the purpose of the shallow part, but now I love it. For one, the shallow part sits over the dishwasher, so now I don't get the counter wet after rinsing dishes before putting them in the dishwasher. For another, much like the description says, it's the perfect staging area for prepping messy foods - no more getting the counter dirty.

OMG that looks amazing. You can get something similar called "papaya milk" at boba places, too.

Thanks for the recipe. I am going to make this today!

The best dessert I ever ate is flan made by an ex-coworker. He called it flan but it was unlike any flan I've ever eaten... it was very thick and rich and the most delicious thing I've ever eaten. Even after he transferred out of our department we would still invite him to team potlucks just for the flan.

Another substitute for dairy is coconut milk, not the regular kind used in Asian cooking, but the kind at Whole Foods that is sold in a carton. It has no taste of its own and works great in smoothies, with much less calories.

We moved in my senior year of high school - I still miss my old bedroom! Whenever I dream that I'm at home, it's always in that old house. I rarely dream that I'm at any of the homes I've lived in since. My parents rented out the house for several years and then recently decided to sell it. My husband and I were tempted to buy it from them, but it was in a neighborhood that had become really run down since my childhood. I wish we could have had the whole house picked up and moved to a different location!

We started doing this a few years ago. It has saved us from SO MANY fights. Highly recommend!!

Our family of 2 adults and 2 toddlers moved from an 1900 sq ft house (plus a huge garage with storage attic) to a 1250 sq ft condo with minimal storage. We had to get rid of a lot of junk - most of the stuff that was in the storage attic - and it felt so liberating! We have to think twice now before buying anything, so it's saved us money. And the new place is SO much easier to clean. I don't regret it at all.

We have two boys, 7 months and 22 months. They have been sharing a room for the last few weeks. Patricia, we have found that the toddler gets used to the baby's cries and now sleeps through it. The baby still wakes up at least once a night crying (and it can get really loud) and yet the toddler sleeps through it. I would just go ahead and do it and see what happens.

We live on the Peninsula. We moved here from LA (away from family) because of work. I think it's the best of all worlds in the Bay area. The little condo that we're renting is close to the city, close to the airport, close to nature, and there are lots of ethnic restaurants and excellent public schools. We can walk to two downtown areas yet we're right at the edge of the suburbs (I think poppyb and I must live in the same area). It's funny because ever since we had babies, my husband likes to say that we "sold our souls" because we now lust over those brand new un-original community homes popping up in San Jose because unlike here, there we can afford a decent sized home that is brand new (no maintenance), and there are playgrounds within the communities. We think about it, but we're still renting here because we haven't yet completely crossed over to the dark side.

During the summer my hair salon puts out for their clients one of those big glass jars with a spigot. In it is ice cold water with round slices of cucumbers and oranges floating. It's very pretty to look at and oh, so refreshing!

May I suggest that you try putting them in the same room? We have a 21 month old and a 6 month old and we moved the baby into the toddler's room last week. The cribs are on opposite ends of the room and a sound machine is between them on a window sill.

It has only been a week so far and they are getting more and more used to each other. At first they woke each other up more, but now they mostly sleep through each others' cries. It's painful in the beginning but the end result (a good nights' sleep) is well worth it. Plus I think the toddler is really enjoying the company.

We have the Fagelbo L-shaped sofa bed from Ikea. I can't find it on their site anymore but here is a picture: http://sfbay.craigslist.org/sfc/fur/580177574.html.

It's awesome! It is super comfortable, especially with a mattress pad on top. Everyone who has slept on it remarks on how comfortable it is, and the long part of the "L" opens up to store sheets, blankets, and pillows (though I also keep all my old VHS movies in there). It is in the nursery so I often end up sleeping there after midnight feedings, and it's sooo comfy.

We have an Aerobed too, for when we have a lot of guests, and we also stand it up against the wall during the day for multi-day stays.

i'm asian too and it's just second nature to us. i'm amazed at the number of people who find it rude to ask guests to remove their shoes. i always take off my shoes when i visit an asian household. we are pretty lax at our house and usually tell guests not to bother removing their shoes, but with some guests, especially older asians, even if i insist they keep their shoes on, they just cannot NOT remove their shoes, it's so ingrained to do so.

I've never understood the need for those pegs. Couldn't you just keep the pots and pans in the drawer the same way every time without those pegs? What am I missing here?

It's so expensive! The plastic race car bed is less than $200. And yeah, I don't like the cross at the head of the bed either.
