Yes! You beat me to it. I was totally going to suggest this. I have all sorts of pictures from this blog pinned to my Pinterest board. The Tumbleweed "Whidbey" design is my favorite, and I love what she's done with it!!!

Best appetizer ever: half a date stuffed with goat cheese and topped with half a pecan. Gluten free, soooo delicious, and a softer and chewier texture than your other offerings. OR what we did for our wedding: skewers of fruit! That would also bring a nice balance, and the color is always delightful.

Whoa! I bought a marble-top table at Goodwill for about $10 last year, and the wood was a mess. I painted it a mossy green, but now I want to paint it glossy black!!! Love!

OH, and I'm not one for fixating on calories, either-- this app tracks all nutrients (fat, sat fat, carbs, fiber, protein, sugar, etc) that I try to keep in balance. Much better to see your breakdown of calories so as to better the healthfulness of your intake :)

I opened this article just to comment! Actually, I opened to add my two cents that LOSE IT! is the best, but it looks like the author is in agreement! I've shed weight and gotten myself back into better habits several times using this.
FOR THOSE THAT COOK AND EAT AT HOME: We do, too. Almost exclusively. From raw foods (not boxes to be scanned). The updates to this app (you know, since I started using it 4 years ago) are amazing, because you can add recipes!! You choose the raw foods and amount, and then you can set how many servings are in the recipe, and it calculates all the nutrients for you. It saves the recipe and you can add it to your day whenever, just like any other raw food or boxed/branded product. LOVE THIS and it made it much easier this time around to track my eating accurately-- I just added recipes as I went, especially our favorites.
This app is SO EASY to use and it's really fun and encouraging! It helps you stay focused, and puts into perspective the difference that little snacks and second helpings make in your day! It's not just good for losing weight, either-- I first started using this as I transitioned from omnivore to vegetarian, and it encouraged me how much more fiber vegetarianism offered while still surpassing the recommended amount of daily protein! As a FREE app, I highly recommend it-- for losing weight, for analyzing your daily intake, for seeing the nutrient breakdown of your homemade recipes, and for checking the nutrient content of foods at restaurants and groceries!

My family is in love with two different (super easy!) icebox pies, both of which are poured into graham cracker crusts (store-bought or homemade) and chilled in the freezer til set.

Key Lime: 1 tub cool whip, 1 can sweetened condensed milk, and lime juice.

Chocolate: 1 tub cool whip and 1 (large) melted Hershey's Symphony bar.

Not having lime juice, this week I made the first recipe but added a creamy stout beer. Frozen beer pie. Does it get any better?

Oh, Aunt Peaches, you've moved?!?! What happened to all your stuff? We are currently facing this dilemma: we LOVE our home and have filled it with everything lovely and quirky and perfect for that place, but now that we are moving we feel the need to start over in a new place (with the exception of our most precious, heirloom or memory-filled pieces). Did you take everything? or just your favorites? and how did you make it all work in a new place?

Ugh, I had the third scam happen to me about 2 years ago. I sold a faux-fur coat on Ebay for $1.29. Yes, $1.29. New, with tags. Shipping was $8. The buyer gave me a great review, then filed a complaint with paypal saying that the item was not as described-- something about the way it comes together in the front. Her suggestion was that she be refunded some of the money because she still liked it. She suggested that I refund $3. So, I would be refunding her the entire coat plus some of the shipping. We obviously fought this, gave examples of how DETAILED the list was, with pictures of the front clasps, showed the positive review, and explained the shipping. She still fought back, lowering the refund to $2, and then eventually escalating it all the way to a full-fledged complaint for review and then demanding $4 back. We fought the whole way, and thankfully it was decided in our favor. We didn't have to pay her anything, blocked her, and haven't sold anything on Ebay since. :(

We take this ideal a step further and decorate almost exclusively with functional items: the wall-fillers in the dining room? floating shelves with our anthro bowls and fiestaware dishes, a baker's rack with our stemware, and a little wooden shelving unit with our collection of colorful mugs... in the den? our guitar, ukulele, and mandolin pop off of the green wall with their glossy wooden bodies... in the kitchen? aprons and reusable grocery bags on teal hooks, and oven mits above the stove... in the bedroom? a handmade coatrack covered in scarves, bangles, and hats.
We hate accumulating "decorations" except for very precious items (a ceramic plate from Spain, wedding photos and a portrait of our baby- er, dog) and therefore have chosen to fill our empty spaces with items that are both beautiful and used all of the time. Why should we hide our awesome dishes or the guitar we play daily? Also, this maximizes storage in our tiny little place. And it's cheap!

When the Camera's Not Looking: Evaluating Livability

Our house is small, and we have little else in the way of decorations but a tree, but the glow from that tree alone warms the whole house. We set it up in the front window of our living room, so you can see it from the street outside, or from almost any area in the house because of our open floor plan. All the festive fun of the holidays with the simplicity that retains the focus of the season.

Christmas Decor: How Much Is Too Much?

This reminds me of two important decorating rules that I had to learn by experience:
1) Never pick a color by its name! We painted our entire den "pumpkin bread" because my husband is obsessed with pumpkin and the swatch looked like it would bring out the right shades in our retro couch. I painted all through the night, unable to see the color in good light, and the next day I really kicked myself. It was like a haunted house-- an eerie, dark glow all the time!!! We have since repainted.
AND 2) Just because paint looks AWESOME somewhere (like "tranquility" blue in our basement! so perfectly retro!) does NOT mean it will look great in another place (like in our sunroom-- all the light made it look way too icy blue and not nearly as Tiffany's.) Use those swatches, and when in doubt, buy the $3 sample jar!
