TracyJ- Sorry for the delayed response, I just noticed your comment. The whole thing cost $400, which wasn't too bad, considering I got the couch pretty much for free (all I had to pay was $150 to move it to my old apartment when I got it). Totally worth it! :)

Marissa here- Melo & Sons were AMAZING! They had the couch disassembled and reassembled in under two hours! It's now in the living room and looks amazing! I'm so relieved. I HIGHLY recommend them! :) I took a few photos, check them out: http://www.flickr.com/photos/21086669@N00/sets/72157622085065180/

Marissa here- Unfortunately, the windows are tiny (23-24" wide) and we're renting from my father-in-law who will not allow us to take down any window or door frames so that won't work. :(

However, I did call an upholsterer who managed to hook me up with Melo & Sons Upholstery (http://www.meloandsons.com/) who are coming to our house tomorrow to HOPEFULLY disassemble and reassemble our couch. Fingers crossed! I'll post an update tomorrow!

Who is the artist who painted the paintings in the picture at the very top of this page (the ones with the trees)? Those are gorgeous!

I understand all of that but here's the new dilemma I think people are going to start facing more and more often: what if I get rid of this, realize I do need it later on, and then have to re-buy it? Isn't that wasteful and bad for the planet? Wouldn't we be better off to have kept the thing in the first place? I'm going to be moving soon and this is the one that makes it hardest to get rid of appliances we rarely use, etc.

I have a cute little pink suitcase (about the length of a computer keyboard) that sits next to the nightstand. The rest of our "tools" stay in the drawer of the nightstand.
