Wouldn't these be nice in a child's room?

Depends on how sturdy the materials are. the project result looks wonderful, but possibly too delicate for active children.

I find more than three or four tabs open a distraction. I just keep my list in an Archie Grand notebook and use my Lamy Safari pen to keep track of my items. They're both sunny yellow, which I believe is 90% of the reason I get anything done.

I envy people who can furnish well with CL. I'm too scared of other people's cooties.

I love the kitchen cabinets! Still can't really figure out the apartment floor plan, but it doesn't bother me the way it does others.

Thank you for this tip. So often I overlook thrifted pieces because the musty old smell makes me violently ill. I've had good luck with vinegar on some things that have gotten fusty smelling, but hadn't thought to try other solutions. I love that many are low cost and things I have around the house...well except kitty litter.

Someday I hope to have an income level where I look at a $350 price tag and think "inexpensive".

HAHA. Some of these pieces already feel dated to me because they are so ubiquitous on this site. I often wonder how pieces can be both ubiquitous and somehow "investment" pieces when at some point the tide will inevitably turn against them. Isn't that how all this MCM stuff ended up in thrift stores in the first place?

A dear friend had a similar set up; her twins had been born premature so they needed constant monitoring. The bedrooms were too choppy for this, but the open floor plan living/dining/den worked better. They had a queen bed under a window and Eurostyled, with lots of pillows, textures and fabrics. It looked more boho than anything else and wasn't weird to sit on. They also had some other seating options like big comfy floor cushions and a couple of chairs. If I recall they had the bed on a low platform so it didn't really read as a bed because it was so well styled. It probably also helped nearly all her friends and relatives were big hearted and compassionate, not like the judgey, haughty commentariat here.
