I kept searching to see books somewhere. Or any decorative item that isn't retail looking. Browsing these photos I felt that personal collected items were missing, but maybe because they are still a young couple and those things collect with time. Darling home, I love the glimpse of the exterior!

Fantastic! I'm impressed.
I'm also interested in knowing how the skull in the living room is hung. It looks as if it's hanging from some sort of wire?

This is a great color for a flower, and might have been my favorite oil pastel or marker choice as a young girl. In fact, this color was fantastic in the children's theater production "Harold & the Purple Crayon." I just don't see it as a grown up / family color though.
Jewel tones are my least favorite of all color groups, and living with five males.. You won't find it in my home.
I'd like to see a more cohesive, versatile, & maybe organic/modern color choice.
This color screams wasteful to me. I picture tons of home goods on shelves and very few homes that they belong in.

As if the house tour photos weren't impressive enough.. (beautiful home, beautifully photographed) .. The resource list is insane! Some very worldly & rich family history here. Fortunate little family.

Wow, 5,000 sq. ft.. I can see why some long time followers of "Apartment" therapy would be annoyed. This is not the kind of space most have to work with.
It is a gorgeous home, though. Regardless of what is on the walls or floors, the architecture & character are stunning on their own.
I was really enjoying it until the last photo.. all the shoes & boots strategically placed, blocking on the stairs. I don't get it. I run a household of seven.. I remind my boys every day NOT to kick off shoes blocking the stairs, or we'll fall down them.

Very well said, McCross.
I'm a passionate explorer & nature lover, and have explored many of the places on the lists. (i often blog about them here: http://ourfunwithfive.blogspot.com/2013/05/buttermilk-falls-sate-park-upstate-new.html
The Finger Lakes region in the NE is awesome - I was just to many of those places this spring. The Oregon coast is also among my favorite places in our nation to explore.
I was greatly disappointed to see the Great Lakes & Minnesota underrepresented though.. particularly northern Minnesota, and the north shore of Lake Superior - which is an amazing gem of our country. Living in northern Minnesota, I don't really feel like we are remotely similar to the rest of the "midwest".. Iowa, Indiana, Illinois, and the likes. Maybe because it doesn't truly fit into a zone, it is overlooked. The north shore of Lake Superior is a must for all hikers and explorers. Tettegouche State Park northward - you won't be disappointed. Stunning views of our greatest lake, waterfalls spilling into it all along the way.. nice temps for hiking, fresh air, clean water, it's one of my favorite places on earth.

I'm in total agreement with RRSW and others.. I don't live in the city. We had chickens way before it was "trendy." In fact.. when it got trendy, I stopped.
But we like fresh eggs from a known source, and have an awesome coop that we took the time to build years ago, and it was sitting empty. So we have four hens again.
Chickens are not loud!! Roosters, yes- but that is different.. roosters are not laying hens, and should not be kept around laying hens, in my opinion.
VET care!?? You've got to be kidding.
I read that there are more chickens on our planet than there are people.. which kind of weirds me out. People.... if they become of no use to you anymore, EAT THEM!!

Ours are incredibly simple to care for. They have proper shelter and outdoor run space. With proper feeders and water, we can leave them very easily, unlike our dog, who requires a bit more consideration. My 9 & 10 year olds take care of the chickens completely on their own. They are not hard to care for. And they are rather enjoyable, in small numbers.

I MUCH prefer to fine free hand it over tape! I rarely use tape, and totally prefer the result. I think it's much neater.
