I like the color-coordination... but it would have looked better if you had broken them up to begin with, like you say. Love the purple with the grays and whites!

I recently put together (& lifted up) an Ikea 4x4 Expedit all by myself, and when I moved from college to an apartment I did all of the moving myself, in a small car. Phew! I may take pride in being an "independent woman," but this last time I moved I was thankful to have my brother & cousins help me.

I've been using it for about a year and I LOVE it. I'm awful at budgeting/keeping track of finances, so it's just what I need. I check it at least once a day.

also, it has to say something that all the cats are sitting and not sleeping comfortably...

When I was nannying, this was the kids' favorite indoor-activity. I painted a sweet mug one time that I still have, red with lighter red polka dots, and a yellow handle/bottom. The inside was done with only one coat of red (mostly because I had to "help" the kids finish theirs), so it turned out stripey. It definitely won't be mistaken for high-end pottery, but I think its obvious hand-made-ness adds to the appeal.

Stop showing the silver Parson's desk... I want it so badly and they don't make them in that color anymore. :(

Adorable desk! I like the current color as well... the idea of painting the interior would be striking. My vote is for a minty blue-green, or a sunny yellow (unless you keep pens or make-up in there which would dirty it up). Also, getting new knobs for those little drawers would help accent its little details.

I definitely have a box spring because my mattress would fall through my frame without it. But before, when my "bed" was built-in, I didn't. I can't really tell the difference in comfort, even when I was sleeping with my mattress on the floor for a bit!
