I agree, I like the gray with some pops of color, but the first one is terrible. :(

Hello, this is like treating emotions with food... you don't heal sadness, depression, frustration, anger, etc. with food OR drugs, real or not! Talk to your kids about what they are feeling and get to the root of it!

I love the simplicity of this. I am in agreement with her design style except for the part about cutesy details - I think that's the key to making it look like a "kid" room. Details done in good taste of course! For example I think pbkids bathroom accessories are really neat and still appealing to design-conscious grownups.

These are awesome!! Personally I don't have the patience for refinishing old furniture, but the idea of using fabric with decoupage on a smaller scale is brilliant.

thanks for this post - i haven't seen anything quite like that storage bench so far. that would even make a great "grown-up" ottoman if it came in more colors!

Help- I need to make a decision soon. Do I *NEED* carpeting/a full area rug for the hardwood floors in my nursery? Do any of you make do with a smaller rug for the middle of the room only? I'm wanting to move the furniture into the room soon and don't want to change my mind about getting carpet in there. Thanks!

I just went through a similar scenario at Christmas and ended up going with an Itunes gift card which went over really well. Gift cards were invented for a noncommunicative teenager. (As much as I think gift cards can be impersonal sometimes, I think giving one in this situation acknowledges that his tastes and interests are changing, and that you support him figuring out exactly what he's into.) I remember a lot about being twelve... this is what I would have wanted from my cool aunt: Give him a gift card but don't make a big deal about it, and then take him out for pizza, just the two of you, and let him talk about anything he wants.

How about some sort of folding screen? Something easy for you to move but still sturdy enough the cats won't knock it over.

Lovvvve the chocolate bag for sure, for packing up diapers, extra clothes, snacks, sling, toys, 4 kinds of hand sanitizer, lots of other little things, and of course all the extras for myself that usually go in my purse. Just visualizing for now but soon to be a reality in August!
