I agree with all the tips, and I would add keeping a stock of ginger ale, crackers, chicken broth, and jello on hand, and a fully stocked medicine cabinet. Pets do know when their owners are ill. I have two cats who normally don't want to be held for more than a couple of minutes. When I'm under the weather, they both stay on the bed with me until I am better.
