I made these this weekend and found I had to smush them down; they wouldn't just flatten on their own. Also, I strongly recommend replacing the water in the glaze with lemon juice. I'm allergic to walnuts, so I used ground toasted almonds instead, with good results. Recipe: Nutmeg-Lemon Pfeffernusse |

It's been ages since I put cardamom in coffee. Thanks for the reminder, doing that tomorrow morning! Cinnamon is also nice, as is (my favourite) a few drops of vanilla. Try This: Cardamom Coffee |

I also suffer the curse of inadequate counter space, inadequate pantry and inadequate pie crust. My crust is tasty, but I always have a hard time transferring it from the counter to the pie plate. What Are Your Baking Hang-Ups? |

I second hummus and spaghetti aglio e oilo (I like to throw some mushrooms and sun dried tomatoes in mine). A good garlicky guacamole is also a great way to get calories and nutrients if you've been finding eating nutritiously to be challenging (I did during my first trimester, and am once again now in my third). Another favourite is cheesy polenta with greens (kale, chart, spinach, whatever) sautéed with garlic and chile flakes. I'm Pregnant and Craving Garlic! What Are the Most Garlicky Recipes You Know? With my tiny condo, the only thing on this list I DO have is a TV stand. What Atniel said, exactly. I'm under 5' with hands to match, and it's not the size of the blade that matters to me, but the size and girth of the handle that makes all the difference in manageability. I love my Globe knife! Why Small People Need Big Knives Too: Knife Advice from Sara Moulton |
