I would keep the roofline in tact... replace the box planter window with a much larger rectangular window, paint the house a lighter color, paint the brick a slight shade darker than the new house color, and paint the trim with a dark color and invest in a dark simple but quality garage door.

@star264nyc we found that 50's Census map of DC at a local hit or miss furniture shop. That was one of my favorite finds!

@whale yes on the ashtray spotting. No on the smoking in the apt. 

@rhodajr he is a ragdoll and he is fat and furry, good thing we have a Dyson!

@housevoyeur the entire building was built with green in mind so they made sure not to waste too much energy with heat and A/C consumption. 

@angp some body later posted a link for the bedding but I don't know the white, sorry :-( 

@applemanju got the cabinet for under $100 at ikea and never looked back.

@fulinlin I will send something in to ikea hackers in the next couple weeks, thanks for the great idea!

@digger61 we actually have sunshades (thank god because we face east) that completely cover the windows but i don't think you can see them rolled up in the pictures.
