We would make slow-roasted lamb shoulder, with lots of nice root vegetables tucked in for good measure!

At the time of its folding, the Blueprint editors were saying that Bluelines was meant to reach out to young media consumers on a digital platform (i.e., a really cool blog), but I always found Bluelines to be pretty disappointing - usually there was only one post a day, which is hardly compensation for the magazine it was meant to replace. Considering the kind of media talent out there, I am surprised more effort wasn't spent on making the blog better.

All of the Fresh Farm markets (Dupont, Penn Quarter, Foggy Bottom) are producers markets, which means that the vendors have to grow/make everything themselves and use locally raised ingredients, etc. , although I'm curious how the new gelato vendor at Dupont fits into that.

U St. and Mt. Pleasant are closer to me, but we usually head down to Dupont just because the selection is so much better. I feel like Mt. Pleasant had more vendors (including meat) last year...

To be fair, I feel like they were given more than $10 - they made at least six plates (four for the kids, one for the judges, one for Tom) and in one shot I thought I counted eight. Since the challenge was to cook a meal for four, my boyfriend and I thought they must have been given $20, and told to make 8 plates. $20 at Whole Foods is a whole different ballgame. Otherwise, how could they have gotten things like a whole chicken AND produce? Fennel's close to $4 a pound at my local Whole Foods!

This is a fantastic store - David, the owner, is incredibly helpful, and will order anything you need. We can't afford many of the things we'd like from here just yet, but did buy our first "real" sofa from a floor sale he had not that long ago.
