I boil it for 10 minutes in salted water, rinse and then steam it over sieve for 20 minutes. It always turns out light and fluffy. I love using it especially in fried quinoa: http://myburningkitchen.com/2011/01/27/quinoa/

IKEA sells sieves that fit perfectly over a medium saucepan with holes small enough to hold them in.

Since giving up traditional cable and relying on Amazon, Hulu, etc., we rarely turn on our traditional t.v. in the living room. The last time was to watch a Netflix DVD but I figure that we'll soon be cancelling that service.

Tried them and while they weren't great, they were 100% better than the deep fried corn-on-the-cob they also offered at the fair. And the chocolate cover corn dog was just disgusting.

My husband is always disappointed by Apple's lack of support for older operating systems. Classic environment was his savior to run Freehand -- the software which he does ALL of his graphics. He's currently on his third G4 scouring Craigslist when the computer fails.

Sometimes newer isn't always better.

Check out Comixology, an app available through iTunes. Marvel, DC and a host of other publishers have their titles available as well as samples of books.

On the Marvel website, they are offering monthly subscriptions to their all their titles -- old and new issues. Downside is that not available for download but require flash. So it's not iPad friendly.

I'm a huge Laura Ingalls Wilder fan and overjoyed when I found a pristine copy of this cookbook a few years ago. Unfortunately I haven't had a chance to make anything in the book. Yet.

Personally, I think the best book in the series is Little Farmer boy and his obsession with eating! Popcorn and cider at night. Making ice cream in the summer and using up all the white sugar. What's not to love about the book?

I love Trader Joe's and relieved that they finally carry their own brand of sugar. I've slowly switched most of my mainstream/big chain grocery shopping to Trader Joe's and found their products to be superior in taste.
