My cat throws up all the time and I have a pale green rug in the living room. The best thing I've ever used is a product called Incredible. You can get it at Bed Bath and Beyond for $4.99. It removes all signs of the spot. Only caveat - I got the rug with my house and I don't know what it's made of.
