My wife and I are actually contemplating this right now! We are expecting our first child very soon and plan on staying in our small studio loft for the first few years. We're trying to find an affordable but sturdy company to purchase a Queen Size loft bed with 6' clearance underneath. (Our ceilings are 11'.) We also would love to have stairs instead of a ladder. (Late night feedings using a ladder sounds like a nightmare!) Small Space Inspiration: Bunk Beds & Lofts |

Fantastic! how tall are the ceiling heights now? we're in a studio loft (with 10-12 foot ceilings) and we've been contemplating a lofted sleeping area over our kitchen for years and now even more so since we have a little one on the way! Shell's Renovated Lofty Studio House Tour |

We are in a very similar situation - 667 square feet studio loft, expecting our first in 3 months. We considered building walls or lofting our bed and putting the crib under (we may still do this) but we've just opted to all live in one big space together with areas demarked by natural divides like the line of a couch or a few plants. Perhaps it will be too light filled or loud for our baby to sleep and then we'll have to regroup, but for now - it it what it is. We converted some shelves near our bed to baby gear shelves and put an idea grundtal rail under one shelf for hanging space, found a cottage sized dresser and are putting the keekaroo changing pad on top (no sheets for changing pad = less linens!) and got a smaller size crib and put it on locking wheels so we can move it to darker corners if need be. Love the grey and pops of color! I'm curious about the mobiles - is it just a tree branch that the paper cranes are attached too? How did you affix it to the wall? And the bird mobile over your glider I'm in love with - was that handmade too or purchased? (We're in Boston too, so local is easy!) Vivien's Cozy Rainbow Retreat My Room |

I realized it's been a while... but we also live in a loft in Boston and have been trying to find the right person/company to design/build a lofted bed for us (also, ideally hanging from the ceiling.) Can you please tell me who you used and how to contact them? Thank you! Design Ideas for Loft Kitchen Renovation? Good Questions |

Funny, but I believe I had a conversation with the man who designed the Big Sur for C and B (he manages the local DWR) and the impression I got was not one of knock-off, but original design. Apartment Therapy San Francisco | Good Questions: SF Source for the Dream Table?#comments |

That looks just like our table - which is the Big Sur Table from Crate and Barrell. Comes in two sizes - I think this is the longer of the two. It's solid white oak and when I say solid, I mean solid. It's fantastic. We have it paired with white Panton chairs but I'm loving the look with the metal. There's a hot tub place in Asheville, NC. And if you're ever in Boston - I own a wellness spa in which we use 2 wooden hot tubs. We used Roberts Hot Tubs, out of CA, but the tub assembly was relatively the same. (and the place in Boston is called Inman Oasis.) My first was kismet x 2. The big Big Sur dining table at a C&B outlet for $150. It had some showroom wear but gave the sturdy/farmwood look of it more character. And less than a week later, I scored 6 new condition white Panton chairs off of Craigslist NY. I had to drive 4 hrs to get them, but it was worth it. We love the look and the mix of rustic and modern. Apartment Therapy Los Angeles | Who Was Your First? Your First High End Purchase |

I also got a great, skinny but 6' tall tree at Target. And they have some nice, not super garish, ornaments. Apartment Therapy Boston | Good Questions: Source for Paperwhites and Fake Trees? |

We have a hammock in our loft. It's supported by big timber rafters above and can be clipped on and off with caribeners so we don't have to have it up when we don't want to. I love it. We don't have outdoor space so we have it situated so that you get to look at all of our plants and big windows when you are in it. I can't remember the name - but there's a nice little place, been there forever, on washington st. in Roslindale. We had a chair done there and they did a fantastic job (and it was a curbside found chair, so it had some issues!) I'm originally from Western PA and now live in New England and was so confused that what I grew to love as a kid as Gobs could be called Whoopie Pies. They are still Gobs to me! And yes, my Mom also had a ridiculous amount of Crisco. We used to die the frosting in the middle red and green to make them festive xmas cookies. I love them best out of the fridge. A company in Maine makes chocolated dipped whoopies and a cake sized one - wickedwhoopies.com or something. Apartment Therapy The Kitchn | Sweet Treat: Whoopie Pies |

I'd love to know if there are modern wood pellet stoves out there... we've been looking and all we can find are these awful clunkers. Apartment Therapy Los Angeles | Good Questions: Modern Fireplace Ideas?Los Angeles |
