LOVE:
Making the bed, dust mopping, sweeping (because it proves that what appears clean isn't always clean) and watering the plants.

DON'T MIND: Cleaning the cat box; do it every morning and dump it on the way out. Laundry but I do hate..

HATE: ...going upstairs/downstairs three times to do even one load of laundry. Once to place in washer, second to transfer to dryer (or take upstairs for air drying) and finally, the charmed third time, to fold and take upstairs. Often I'm so done with the whole back and forth thing, that I cram my newly cleaned items into the laundry bag and fold them upstairs where at least I can feel that I'm done and watch tv as I fold.

Wow! Impressive. Having too much jewelry to store in any one place, I applaud your imagination and completion on a very well done DIY.

Love the juxtaposition of the red wall and the green cabinet. These warm and cool colors have whetted my appetite for tomato soup with avocado. Yum.

I agree with the most obvious fix, visually lessening the noise by removing, hiding most of what is displayed and, if possible, painting the cabinets white. Perhaps a rice paper shade would prove to be both inexpensive as well as a quick fix. Honestly, it's not a bad space even when exposed.

I guess I'll ask a friend to come help me hang a 7' tall mirror on the wall in front of my dining table and to place a 5' long beautiful, wood carved screen onto its base. On my own I'll hang a second clothing rod above the standard one in my bedroom closet, hang a light fixture over the dining table (brought more than five years ago), and add lights to my bedroom closet.

This list will morph as soon as I press 'submit'.

Wow! If only I had an extra bedroom it'd be set up just like yours including the mirrors placed on top which I'd never have thought of on my own.

I'm returning to your house tour now to catch details I missed the first time and thereafter to your blog. Or, maybe I'll visit your blog first and then return to your fabulous home tour.

Thanks for sharing and for the inspiration.

I have a 1930's vanity I love but would gladly switch with you as the floor length side mirrors on yours made me gasp. Honestly. Love the turquoise fridge whether it fits or not.

Blue door love is why I hope to paint the front of my bedroom door blue. Love the bottle opener replete with bottle cap holder and its advertisement. With little sunlight in my place, I love the fact that yours is flooded with natural light. Nice comfortable home and the child's art on the fridge adds to the coziness factor.

Beautiful home and thanks for sharing.

When I first saw the "My Favorite Thing" submission request, I simultaneously thought of my great grandmother's handmade quilt and of my boys - two American short hair cats. Those are my babies and I too marvel at their paws/paw pads, nose, tails and overall shape. They're gorgeous!

I admire the poster for showcasing his cat.

Thank you for opening your home for curious strangers to gawk at while searching for the 'ah ha' moment that inspires them in their own space. For me, the little square black table was the spark that will move me to utilize a small nook similarly.

The PB & J made me smile as I made/enjoyed one for lunch today.

Tell please, the method/weight requirements used to hang the swing chair as I've been wanting to hang one in my living room for some time now. Clicked the link to price said chair but to no avail. I'll check again after dinner.

I so want to hang a swing chair in my living room but am still searching for said swing. Thereafter I'd have to find a skilled handyman to hang it from the ceiling of my circa 1930's home.

How I relish the idea of having one to come home to after a long day at work or for simply enjoying on lazy days.

One Simple Idea: Put A Bolt In Your Ceiling

I have too much stuff and have instituted a saving vs. shopping goal. Instead of seeing my possessions grow, I'm looking forward to seeing my savings account grow.

Recently I've found myself unprepared for the unexpected guest and viewing my home from a visitors viewpoint revealed clutter under all the furniture clogging the flow in each room. In addition to being a shopaholic, I've also been the recipient of many goods from others. Thus, if I don't need it, I no longer accept it.

My goal is to never have to clean before company but to be able to swing the door wide open, smile brightly and say, "Come on in."

I absolutely adore your home!

After reading about the different design styles AT readers have tired of, it was refreshing to read your Best Advice namely to, "Buy what you like...not everyone has to like it."

As a fellow shoe lover, please share the source for the pretty, two-tiered, patterned shelves in the bedroom used to display some lovelies from your vast collection.

P.S. I just might try to snag the same chandelier in the bedroom if I switch the ceiling fan for an air conditioner.
