I love this post to understand better how mozzarella is made but I will never attempt to make it home, at least until I live in Italy. :)

I've lived in China for work for a few month and I got addicted to sticky rice, so I normally cook chinese style white rice (without salt or anything else, only sprinkled sesame seed when serving it). I've found an italian grown rice which suits perfectly to this kind of cooking method so I don't need to buy more expensive imported rice from abroad. And I bought a very simple, basic and cheap rice cooker which does the job wonderfully.

I cannot imagine not to use a dishwasher...I only handwash big kitchenware such as large pans or other items that don't fit in the dishwasher easily. I red handwash is more water consuming...and I can easily fill dishwasher at least once a day even when I'm home alone!

Totally log.
Feather only on airplanes.
In normal conditions I can sleep everywhere, even if the bed is a mess, in daylight, on boats...I just need some light I hate when there's total darkness.

I love Vola faucets but in my experience as interior designer I noticed the quality is not as high as it should be for the price requested. Most of these faucets look older than you expect after a few years of use. I shouldn't recommend them to my clients, even if the design is wonderful.

I couldn't imagine this topic to be so full of informations!!! As I said in the beginning I'm european and eat euro style but, inside this method, there are lots of variations, tins up and down, how you hold your knife, depending on the situation (at least for me, I don't want to eat too formally when I'm home).
But I have a question: if you eat american style you still put the fork on the left and the knife on the right? This is quite nonsense.

I'm european and I always eat with the european method but in Europe most of the people eat the american way changing fork and knife from one hand to the other.
I forced myself to eat without changing hand because I don't like it but it was very hard in the beginning (now with more than 20 years practice it's very easy), expecially when I had to cut hard food because I'm left-hand and to cut with right hand wasn't easy at all.

Hi! I was born and raised in the parmigiano reggiano area and it's common to add parmigiano crusts to stocks for added flavour. It's also very tatsy to eat the half melted cheese hot out of the stock!!! I don't think you can use other cheeses because parmigiano has a very peculiar texture.
Love!

I'm not so fond on black pepper and I use a variety of spices and herbs, I like ginger a lot, chili, I love mustard and mustard seeds. Cappers, olives, srirakha, lemon and lemon zest.
But when I'm supposed to use pepper I only use it black and from India and crushed istantly (the ground pepper tastes sooo different).

As long as you try a real tea, can be green or olong or black or whatever, without milk, sugar, lemon, bergamot or anything else, you cannot really step back to these kind of commercial arranged tea. It's a non reverse path.

Cleaning a moka: you can cool it down with water in order to open it and wash it. Never wash the inside with soap and never wash the Bialetti in the washing mashing or it gets grey and can get the soap taste (aluminium is porous and retains smells).
It's better to dry it before reassembling and to leave the 3 pieces separate if you're out for many days because even a small humidity creates stains inside.
I'm italian and I live in China and the first thing I packed was a moka with coffee!

@lady: it's true, I was amazed how much soda americans were drinking compared with europeans the first time I went to the States. personally I don't like sodas as they're too sweet for my taste (and I cannot stand aspartame) but I occasionally drink a Coca Cola when I've got stomach ache and it works!

I live in China where food is normally quite cheap but for some reasons avocados are not, they are imported only for expats and sold at very high price. One avocado 90 RMB at local grocery, which is around 15 dollars?!?! I'll wait to be back in Europe....

Why not a wooden laminated floor (easy to install and to clean and cheap)? Colors for kitchen can be from neutral classic (white, cream, gray, lavender) or strong bold colors. With the black top I'd choose a neutral tone if you don't plan to change it. If you do, I'd choose lavender or olive green and cream-light gray-white top.

This kinds of alternative coffees are popular in Italy, chicory+barley+real coffee was a must of my grandma.
Barley coffee alone is very popular here when you want to drink something which looks like a coffee but it's coffeine free (children can drink it freely).
