Stupid design.
The screen can't tilt or fold down, and I wouldn't trust magnets strong enough to hold the screen on around the rest of the components.
A pencil-holding groove? WTF for? Gonna write on the screen when you're bored?
And the placement of the keyboard and touchpad is just as stupid. The reason keyboards are centered in laptops is because it is bad for your posture/wrists/arms for it to be off-center.
And don't mind the enviro-crap at the end. The wood would probably be only a thin veneer, with meal underneath, just for aesthetics and bragging rights. No real environmental effect.

"Retro"-ness has become such a fad nowadays that people attach the word to things that are in no way retro at all - in this example, clocks nowadays are still made in this "retro" style. Its called an LCD clock, and I'd challenge you to find a commonplace clock that uses something different as its display (ignoring analogue, but how's THAT for "retro")

The main provider in South Africa is Mweb, and this is the range of prices/speeds they offer:

hah. here in south africa, the norm is around 384kps... download. the max is 10mbps, which costs the equivalent of... $299 per month.
And this is all hugely shaped, of course.

unless you lick the side of your cup, it isn't going near your mouth - and how phobic are you that it matters? Washing usually involves a lot of hot water and soap, its not as if bacteria live all over the sock and will infect your household with <sarcasm/> evil dirt! </sarcasm>
And anyway, re-use like this is about being frugal, and if you don't think you can live like that, then...

Unofortunately, it now looks like two doors in an airport or shopping mall, which I would really hate

The two are very similar, but Heather's has more stuff and clutter, while Swiss Miss' is far more spartan

You would have to be very desperate and/or cheap to use jars as drinking glasses; they aren't exactly designed for maximum comfort.
Past that though, be careful of dutch ovens - my family has one and we hardly ever use it (ours is cast iron, which means its very heavy and high-maintenance)
