I used to work for an upscale catering company who catered to large parties and weddings. They would make trays of butter pats squirted from an icing tube in elegant swirls. The butter swirls were then frozen so they were easy to slice off the tray and put on the butter plates. By time the guests arrived the butter was softened. Oh the thousands upon thousands of butter swirls I placed on butter plates!

Almost weekly I go on a coffee induced, Saturday cleaning binge. I try to start laundry (like many others it never fully gets done), clean the kitchen counters, and get the f-ing dog hair off of the couch and hardwood floors (seriously it is a whole dust pan of hair each week). Every Sunday I wake up and appreciate the wonderfully clean house and swear that I will keep it clean for good, never put myself through the horror of binge cleaning again. By Tuesday each week I am already planning my next cleaning binge.

WNC antique mall in the Biltmore village is AMAZING! It is in an old tobacco warehouse. I could spend hours in there.
Nine Mile is also one of favorite restaurants:) I love living in Asheville.

I had a lot of success with hot peppers in containers this summer. I grew cayenne peppers, serranos, and thai chilis. I ended up with so many hot peppers that I was giving away tons of them, stringing and drying, and making lots of spicy pepper hummus and chutneys. One plant of each produced more than enough peppers and required minimal care in containers.

I use bold printed fabric in my classroom. I've been rocking thick black and white strips in various places. Great posters or artwork could fill those large empty spaces. Vintage frames (I like to paint mine) are fun ways to display student artwork.
I have an art room with great natural light and beautiful outdoor views, but I still try to use simple bright colors and bold patterns to make it even more comfortable.

I agree with obscura, too many colors looks like a kindergarten classroom.

I'm an art teacher and they make GREAT water cups, marker cups, pencil cups, paint cups, brush cups, and more for kids. If anyone has an extra amount, give them to a teacher, there are endless things they can be used for. I often take fun contact paper and wrap them so they don't look like yogurt anymore.

I also love to store leftovers in them. Not the ones I use in my art class that is...the ones I keep only in my kitchen.

My parents have like 5 of these! When they first got them they were so excited for something to nuke their soup in without making a mess! They still use them all the time...

I am so inspired to create my own Ayn Rand text artwork! Anthem is one of my favorite books.

Also, my parents just moved to a new house and have couches of that exact color, a gray tile fire place, and have been trying to figure out what wall color to use. I am emailing them pictures of your gorgeous house in hopes of inspiring them to find a similar color.

Thanks so much for your lovely inspiration!

I'm also a vegetarian (pescatarian) for environmental and health reasons. I don't cook meat for others not because it grosses me out or makes me feel bad for eating an animal, but because I feel guilty for contributing to the meat industry (organic or not it is still damaging). I also love introducing my friends and loved ones to different kinds of dishes as well. Usually they enjoy trying something new.

When I first became a vegetarian (in college) I sat down to dinner with my parents and told them I couldn't eat the casserole with meat in it because I'm a vegetarian now. My dad's response "There are vegetables in it too!"

Dum Aloo is a dish that we cook often because it is easy, filling, and delicious! You could easily leave out the red chili and replace it with paprika. Here is a similar recipe I googled:
