i think this place is really nice, and not at all hospitaly. the cold lighting, more than the neutral walls and curtain, probably contribute to the stark, sterile appearance. I'm sure if this place was photographed without the direct sunlight or at a different time of day (maybe even night with the lights turned on) it'd appear much warmer. this might be a little high concept but after having seen some post somewhere about that krylon looking glass mirror spraypaint, what about painting the underside of the glass of a bubble glass picture frame? i think you can find those pretty cheap and it might be an interesting DIY. who would ever vote this place one cupcake?! it's well but not overly designed, comfortable, serene, sophisticated, lovely but not too precious, etc. etc. etc.!
