Slide out keyboard would be a requirement for anything that they would consider a "pro" phone. No reason it can't be super-thin with the keyboard, but I think most people would take a bit of thickness for battery life also. Videochatting on AT&T 3g? Laughable at best. I think we will have to wait out another standards war between WiMAX and LTE for a while before seeing any potential videoconferencing. MicroSD? Just stick more storage in the thing. Does it filter trace pharmaceuticals? Most muni supplies don't have a lot of chlorine, mercury and lead (although the filter companies hype up that fear as much as possible)... but they do contain pharmaceuticals that bypass the filters entirely. Too expensive, even for SF. I have lived in smaller space in Japan, but you worry about aesthetics a lot less and have a lot of multi-use stuff. A whole wall was shelving for example. It can totally be done, and you can live in relative comfort, assuming you change your lifestyle and don't get too connected to stuff. A locally boxed wine obviously is the answer to the critique in the article. As for jamjaree's comments: you can either be green or just feel green. If the total environmental impact is lower using cardboard and paper versus glass, then that is the way to go. Recycling is not a panacea and carries its own costs.
